Ambar oscura, rojiza. Sin espuma. Apenas película. Aroma inicial a cereza, luego escaso. En boca poco cuerpo y gas medio. Suave al paladar. Inicio más o menos frutal, manteniendo el tono frutal todo el tiempo. Final muy miuy amargo y seco que queda en boca mucho tiempo. Pours turbid copper with off-khaki head. Nose is caramel malt, vinous fruit, brown sugar. Tasted somewhat tart, with notes of caramel, hops, and figgy fruit.

Okay so I have a question. What was the brewer’s intention here, really? Did the person who entered this beer into the database decide this was an ESB, or did the brewer decide? I don’t know because I can’t understand Italian so I can’t read the label. It’s important, because if the brewer says that this is a sour brown or sour red ale, then that changes everything. This beer is lightly sour, lightly phenolic, and moderately malty. As an ESB it is a dismal fail. As a sour ale of any sort, it is moderately successful. I don’t know how to score this because I don’t know what it claims to be. So I’m going to go middle of the road to give the brewer a benefit of doubt. Nice brown, but was a massive gusher - docking points for that. Quite nice sour aroma, to be honest, nice toffee. Clearly has potential, if it hadn’t spoiled, but it has spoiled, so they fail, and I give them a low score. Not the first dodginess encounter from these guys, IIRC.

Aroma quiet sweet , plenty of caramel. Slight funk. Aromatic floral hop feel Touch of Arabic gum.
Top: medium of white cap.
Base: hazy, cloudy amber-red.
Palate : medium bodied, milder.
Taste: gentle sourness on sweet mild malt base. Caramel with ripe tart fruit with slight bitterness on end.
Other notes Not half bad.
Poured from a cold bottle. Plum color, not much of a head. Sour bitter aroma with a hint of wet towel. Slight tart, fruit flavor.
