A high gravity, full bodied pale ale. Heavily hopped with Chinook and Summit whole hop flowers to give an intense and complex hop aroma and finish. A refreshing summer brew.

Not good either - disgusting. Had this as part of a flight at Monterey Coast Brewing in Salinas, CA.

"If not for the heavier body, I’d have thought they mixed up the pale and IPA. Not nearly as aromatic or as hoppy in flavor as the pale. Too much malty sweetness and really little hop presence. Not a bad beer, but a bad ipa."

Tap at the brewery. Gold pour. Pleasant aroma of pine and sweet malts. Taste is grassy with some sweet malt. Body is light.

Pours a deep golden color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Nose is faintly hoppy. Taste is a blast of hops; interestingly somewhat floral and with citrus notes. Nearly full-bodied, lively carbonation, semi-dry finish with a floral flourish. Nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a pale amber color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with hints of citrus. Fruity malty hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus finish.

Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Nose is pretty unpleasant. Urine, berries, herbs, and grass with a sweet caramel and bread malt base. Blech. The flavor is not much better. Quite grassy with a strange herbal quality and lots of berries. Juniper notes, a little bit of pine bitterness, and lots of caramel sweetness.

thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Tap at the brewery earlier this month. Served in a pint glass full to the rim with absolutely no head. No bubbles. Aroma is barely there with some slight pine if anything. Taste, bland malt forward, simcoe hops in the front but nothing that stands out. The lack of carbonation is a big off putting element. Asked if there was a problem with the carbonation was told, "No, this is the way we intend it to be served." So if you like flat, malty, IPA, this is for you!

bytemesis (9326) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - NOV 13, 2012
Tap. Pours clear buttery amber with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is almost undetectable, with notes of pine and citrus. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, with orange and pine notes. Light bodied. Must have been a bit old.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours amber. Earthy, citric aromas. Med body. Citric/earth flavor with caramel. Dry. Moderately bitter.

I had this on draft at Monterey Coast Brewing. I thought that this was a nicely balanced IPA: good bitterness, but not a palate mauler. Good background malts.
