Dark brown, very pleasant roast aromas, taste is lovely, dark roast and bitter, clean dry finish. A burnt chocolate quality sort of coats the mouth and lingers. A quality beer.

Tannish colored fluffy head, good retention and lacing. Medium brown color with a slight red hue. Sweet malty aroma with notes of breadiness and almost no perceivable hop aroma. Surprisingly medium low bodied for a stout. Very enjoyable flavors of roasted malt and nice sweetness. Finishes chocolaty and refreshing. My scoring is based more on the fact that I enjoyed the beer than whether or not it met style guidelines.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Beautiful thick foamy head contrasts with the deep dark colour. Smells of smokey coffee with a tart tinge to it. A little bitter.

(bottle - 330 ml) Dark brown pour with a tan head. Roasted chocolate aroma with some dark fruit and wine hints. Flavor is very dry and roasted at the start with a very dry and bitter roasted middle and a lightly wine-like finish with some chocolate and plums. Rather nice.
