Golden colour, but not much head. Grassy hop and sweet, slightly doughy pale malt character. Earthy, mid 20s bitterness, and grassy-mossy hop character. Pale malts are moderately heavy. Lunkie (1963) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - SEP 24, 2015

From a 330ml champagne-type brown bottle with BB of 22/5/15. It pours clear gold with a medium sized tightly packed white head. Nose offers sweet grainy malts, grassy and citrusy hops and a soft peppery spiciness. Flavour is similar with a decent crisp refreshing dry hop bitterness. Palate is medium bodied and oily with a lively mouthfeel. A decent German-style pilsner (rather than the advertised Bohemian if you ask me). Pyobon (1497) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 23, 2014
(Bottle) Clear pale golden with short-lived loose white head. Aroma has notes of cardboard, grass and pepper. Light body with nice bright carbonation. Taste has quite a bit of pleasant light maltiness with some peppery spice developing and some good nice bitterness in the finish. It’s richer than I expect for the style, but it works pretty well.

From a bottle. Hoppy aroma, not much head, full clear and crisp flavours, a fruity bitterness. Westkyoto77 (640) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 25, 2014
Cool bottle, but a little underwhelming. Aromas of wheat and hay, with a super-light, crisp and dry body. Went down nicely with spicy Vietnamese food, but was a little lacking in adventure. ALLOVATE (3063) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2013
POINTS there for the beer bottles and labels of this Tasmanian brewhouse. The concept of using local artists to clothe the bottles is inspiring and I reckon, personally, I think this one is the creme de la creme. So..., the beer.. not as important now. Ahem, off we go. Lifeless pour - tread carefully ALLO, it has a good label. Headless, still, chill haze, orange, dull. Cordial-like and fresh squeezed lemon nose, watery, light musk. Watery, soapy, well hopped to its benefit. I can see where this one was going but someone got lost navigating! Malt is minimal, dry, husky with a doughy, floury yeast note. The noble, whole hop bitterness I do love but for some reason I’d prefer it in a soup over its use in this pilsner. Conflicted, can’t stand it and yet are wanton of another. Just ok. Didn't think it was all that special. Not worth writing home about.
