The Aussie brewery Moon Dog has a whole line of highly-laudable craft beers and the Jukebox Hero fits comfortably in amongst the best of them. A 7.0% ABV IPA that sizzles and buzzes confidently, it even veers towards the spicy territory at times. There is the slightest hint of floral but in general Jukebox Hero avoids the traditional route of the fruity, crisp IPA. This so-called “head honcho of hops” eschews conventions and flaunts its quirks and…it does (kind of) work. Good solid beer worth picking up as your second or twenty-third drink which I wish I could do but I can’t, not without money. Not like this, not living the way I am right now. Out of date bottle at home. Cloudy light gold. Lasting head. Earthy aroma. Immediate coffee taste. Settles into a more malty taste with toffee. Very fizzy and sharp. Nice resin bitterness. Easy to drink with a smooth palate. sm89walt (2082) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - APR 3, 2016
330ml bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney. A hazy, lightly particulate amber with a tall, mostly lasting rocky white to off-white head atop leaving a soapy lacing. Aromas of citrus, mango, pineapple, tangerine and peach. Similar to taste. Quite juicy but with a drier, biscuity pale malt mid-palate. Mid-weight, medium carbonation and a medium to full length and intensity bitterness in the finish of resin and grapefruit. Oakes (19416) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 18, 2016
Tap at the brewery. Slight haze. Light amber. Light tropical and grapefruit hops with light crystal malt. Earthy standard IPA character. R4N5H (1373) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2015
33cl bottle on 10-Oct-2015 poured into a long stemmed tulip glass. Hazy amber colour with a big white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and caramel. Flavour of tropical fruit, citrus, caramel, and hops. Some spiciness and herbs. Bittersweet finush.

330mL bottle from Beer Cartel.
Pale gold beer, fluffy white head hangs around.
Hoppy nose to it; citrus, grass, pine, touch of toasty malt shares company.
Medium bodied (surprisingly), moderate carbonation, good length to it.
All good stuff on the body - biscuity malts, woody citrusy American hops pack a punch and a firm measure of bitterness.
Scarily drinkable for a 7%. A solid staple from this quirky brewery. Ngejo (1000) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - AUG 11, 2015
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2016 Tap. Amber, cloudy, frothy, white foam, medium bitterness, light sweetness, medium body, thin feel, average carbonation, & bitter finish.
