Strong sour cherry aroma, very smooth and full of flavour. An interesting beer but the cherry reminds me of medicine so I can’t rate it to highly.

330ml bottle. Pours dark and oily. Bread, some umami blue cheese stuff, sour cherries, chocolate. Some lovely sour cherry juice stuff, but I can’t get on board with the wheat porter aspect I guess.

330ml bottle from Liquorland Mt Maunganui Black with slight tan head. Aroma is medicinal with wet earth & brewery cellar floor notes. Initial sour note, with an earthy tone and thin palate. Also got a medicinal artificial smoked character and sour finish. Meh

bottle sampled at the local tap house in sydney. reddish brown with a shortlived head; plenty of woody cherry and marzipan in the aroma; sour chocolate flavours with a touch of vanilla. worthwhile idea but the end result is perhaps a little less than the sum of its parts

gyllenbock (9177) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 31, 2014
Bottle bought in Brisbane in August 2014. Black with a small head. This was a strange one. Sour with some light berries, brett, gingerbread and some chlorine. The body was light. I did not finish my glass.

@ Eddan 14-8-30: doften är något av det äckligare jag har doftande med tydlig klor och kloak. Smaken är fruktansvärd och för mig helt odrickbart. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique August 2013. Dense black colour with chocolate and cherry aromas, reminds me of Black Forest cake. Thin bodied with a cheery, vanilla and slight bitter flavour.

Tap. Black, minimal head, tan foam, medium sourness, lightly bitter, light body, soft carbonation, & long finish.

laiti (8469) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 18, 2014
33 cl bottle @ Vastarannan Kiiski. Aroma is sour with bretta, white wine and earthy tones. Flavour is somewhat tart and sour with white wine, bretta, some earthy notes and grapefruit. Finishes with some cherry juice and hints of porter-like roastiness. Unusual but nice. Quite straightforward considering the name and ABV.

"Suicide cruise". Looks black enough with creamy head dissipating to kinda foggy film covering, bit mystical. Strong sour aroma has natural berry notes, cherries and black currant, salty licorice, lots of aroma. Flavor bit surprising after aroma. Bit roasted dry malt, ash, coffee, chocolate.. the usual stuff. Not nearly as much berries here. They are there but not overwhelmingly. Medium body, dry, roasted, soft carbonation, long roasted finish with berry notes. Interesting one but unbalanced. Arona promises more than flavor delivers. Good but expected more.
