3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a hazy orange with cm of disappearing head. Smells like citrus fruits, cognac booziness and oak. Taste is ripe fruit sweetness, malty caramel and cognac sharpness. Almost a brett sourness. Nice bitterness. Another adventurous beer by moon dog, fuck yeah!
Mild aromas of caramel, and grape juice. Flavours bring alcohol, spicy phenols, vanilla, citrus, and plum. I’d probably consider this a lighter bodied barley wine rather than an IIPA. Choos (754) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - OCT 23, 2014
Aroma: slight funk, spiritous warmth, deep malt and some rich hop
App: dark orange touch hazy, tan head sheet lacing
Flavour: huge malt, spiritous with oak, loads of hop bitterness
Palate: lots of rum and malt finish with hop bitterness

Pours a very murky dark tan colour and has a solid DIPA nose with a lurking oak undertone that gives it its backbone. On the palate it is quite heavy, and yet the oak, while evident is not overpowering on the senses. varanid99 (1214) - AUSTRALIA - APR 21, 2014
Murky gold pour with very little head; low carbonation. Oaky, boozy, toffee aromas. Big cognac flavour, spice, caramel, dried fruit. Boozy finish, but drink it slowly...becomes even more boozy and fruity as it warms up StevieT (2013) - AUSTRALIA - APR 9, 2014
From a bottle. The Cognac flavour runs deep through this, it gives it some amazing flavours. Not to be drunk quickly, this is to be savoured.

330ml bottle. Pours a murky chestnut, with a lot of floating sediment and a small off-white head, which lasts reasonably well without leaving too much lacing. Cognac, faint oak, toffee malt and floral, slightly leafy hops make up the aroma. The cognac is evident straight away, as it blends nicely with floral and strong grapefruit hops. Cognac persists into the mid-palate, where it is joined by a little oak and full-bodied toffee malt. More strong grapefruit hops in the finish fade into a cognac aftertaste and a lingering alcohol warmth. Putting a DIPA in cognac barrels is BrewDog-level lunacy, but it pays off here. The cognac works well with both the assertive hops and the weighty malt body, and gives great length to the beer. Certainly one of the more unusual beers I have had in a while, but one of the best too. freiksenet (93) - - FEB 8, 2014

Hazy deep orange-amber color, small off-white head. Berryish and diacetylic aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Alcoholic, citrusy hoppyness, toffee. Lingering light bitterness with alcohol. Quite weird and combination of IPA and cognac don’t work very well.
Hunters, Pori. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is cognac, old wood, some spicy alcohol as well as some nice fruity notes. Flavour is fruity, malty, nicely nutty with an alcoholic kick to it. A bit too sweet, but otherwise nice.
