Our porter is a full-bodied, semi-sweet dark ale, with distinct notes of caramel and chocolate. Brewed in the loving memory of our Brew master’s grandfather, the Captain.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Moon River in Savannah, GA. Appearance is a dark coffee brown with a frothy light tan head that laces to the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate, bit of nuts, kind of light but apparent smell. Taste its pretty good, chocolaty with a bit of hazelnut, light bitterness, pretty damn good!

Pour was dark brown . Aroma of coffee and roasted malts.Taste was much sweeter than I expected...almost like a milk stout. Still had the big coffee and roast flavors. Just a touch of bitterness, but blended nicely. Medium amount of carbonation and fairly thin for such a dark porter style. Pretty tasty.

Deep and dark with chocolate after bite. Ultimately this is a porter that doesn’t separate itself from any other. Ok for walking around savanah on a cool day ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at Moon River poured a dark black pour with a tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Flavor is the same with moderate carbonation.

Fantastic porter. The nose is full of coffee and espresso with some chocolate notes. The beer is a dark dark brown with almost no head. The taste is sweet and malty countered by the coffee and some bitter hops. The palate is medium to full and silky smooth. Great porter.

Draft at the brewpub. Very deep brown color with a creamy head. The palate is also a bit creamy with coffee, light chocolate, some grain, and vanilla flavors. Just a touch of finishing roasty bitterness. It’s a little on the thin side but overall a solid brew.

On tap at the brew pub in Savannah. Wow this was a treat! Very full big chocolate taste. Extremely impressive body. nutty nose + roasted malts. Appearance very dark with minimal lacing and head.

10/2/10. Dark pour with a small tan head, light chocolate aroma and flavor. Not much going on. Meh.

Dark pour, fruity-ashy aroma. Lots of sweetness behind the heavy bitter roast which finishes with a touch of lacticness. Okay.
