COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our wit beer (white beer) is an old style Belgian ale, brewed with wheat and barely , and spiced with Curacao bitter orange peel and coriander. The coriander and orange zest are detectable in the beer's aroma with a lingering, yet subtle "orangeiness." A unique one of a kind brew!
Moon River earned four medals at the 2005 Georgia Craft Brew Challenge hosted by Georgians for World-Class Beer. On Nov. 5, more than 200 lucky people packed the Biergarten at Atlanta’s 5 Seasons Brewing Company to taste the best beers made in Georgia. During the blind judging session, judges evaluated 35 beers and deemed:
• Belgian Ale Category: 1st Place - Wild Wacky Wit

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 4, 2003
10 oz draught, 1/2 pint glass. Pale yellow in color, ?CLEAR?, with light carbonation. (Yeah, that's CLEAR, as in filtered) Tight, frothy white head. Spices, orange peel, and citric hops jump to the forefront. Lightly sweet flavor shits to a lightly sweet / lightly bitter finish. There is some light acidity and a clean citric finish. Light-medium body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. The bottom line is: this beer lacks depth (filtered) and is a little sharp for my tastes (for a wit beer anyway).

hopscotch (11496) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 3, 2004
Lightly hazy, straw-colored ale. Small, creamy, white head. The nose is peppery and floral with a touch of orange blossom honey. Nicely balanced, but thin. Some citrus fruit with decent bittering (grapefruit rind). Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, lightly bitter finish.

BückDich (5477) - McCall, Idaho, USA - APR 7, 2004
Hazy blond color with a nice carbonated head. The aroma is very orangey & musky wheat. The flavor is full of dirty wheat. The spices are there but the wheat just bites too hard finishes musky.

brentfeesh (1216) - Mansfield, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2006
Sampled at the 2006 Southern Brewers Festival. This is not a good looking beer. It looks like nothing other than pale soapy dishwater. The aroma is nice and has a ton of coriander that is straight forward and covers anything else. There are nice fruity flavors throughout this one, orange and berries, but in a light and un-sweet way. Some wheat and spice in there too but more in the aftertaste. Light body and nicely carbonated (gives it a champagne like mouth feel).

jcwattsrugger (12581) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAY 11, 2007
on tap-pours a white head and cloudy straw color. Aroma is faint wheat. Taste is faint wheat, bitter orange peel. Light body. OK effervescence.

dchmela (3089) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUL 8, 2007
Moon River Brew Tap, Savannah. Pours out a light, hazy, lemonade like color. Aroma is citrus and wheat. Taste is lemony with some clove and wheat. Not a bad offering from Moon River, very easy drinking on a hot July day.

ljay6880 (475) - , Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 26, 2010
Draft at Moon River served in a pint glass. Pour was cloudy straw with very little head and no lacing. Nose was old vegetables, light spices, and an odd buttery thing going on. Taste was on par, but the spices associated with the style didn’t really show up until the finish. Even then, they were mild undertones. Not a bat WIT brew, but nothing to write home about either.

blipp (10120) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 14, 2012
Draft. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma is wheaty and lightly sweet with some light floral notes. The flavor has a wheaty base with coriander and some flowery notes. Not bad.

Keg at the brewpub, 19/02/15. Hazed yelloe with a moderate white cap. Nose is bitter lemon, spice, clove, straw. Taste comprises pissy citric shavings, vanilla, light floral notes, lemon rind, straw, faint herbals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok wit.
