So nutty, it was almost crunchy. Brown with a generous head. Malty, and a bit of astringent grassiness. (On tap at brewery, Labor Day weekend 2017, tour of northern breweries with Jazz88). BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 28, 2017

Pint at Original Gravity. Frothy brown head which dissipates quickly. Slightly sub-par flavour, but drinkable. AgentAle (1846) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 5, 2017
Very seasonable black lager that is fresh and has enough flavor to keep it interesting. Very well executed.

San Francisco, Ca - on tap at Toronado. Sable black pour, medium mocha colored head that leaves a nice trail of lacing. Fresh lake aroma, otherwise pretty neutral. Bold flavor, some topsoil notes, a bit of black coffee, just wee bit of licorice. Crisp mouthfeel, Rating #55 of my 2017 Northern California vacation. 60minuteman (1765) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2017
Tap at Sidebar. Black pour. Coffee, roast, malt, hop and barley aroma. Bitter to the end. Delicious balance of roast and coffee and tree. So good I got another when I didn’t need it. crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 22, 2017
Draft. According to the description it was contracted by lagunitas. It isn’t world class but a good lager with a roasty note but light drinkability. ClarkVV (6940) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 19, 2017
Draught at Lulu’s, 4/23/17.solidfunk (9720) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 17, 2017
Dark ebony, undetermined clarity with a light tan head atop showing moderate retention.
Roasted barley shows some light bitterness and chocolate in the nose with bits of caramel and vanilla behind it. A bit of leafy, lightly herbal hop notes, perhaps, as well. Pretty light, low aromatics but no alcohol or flaw and nothing aggressive or out-of-style here.
Same goes for the mild, very drinkable, gently-hopped flavor. Dry and well-attenuated with a very soft, lightly watery texture showing light chocolate, vegetal and peppery hops adding gentle bitterness and just a touch of cream and light caramel on the finish. Low, fairly engaging carbonation keeps it drinkable and there is no flaw or alcohol.
Some roast and lots of water like you built a dam. Black pour with decent head. Bitter finish. Fairly dry. Tap at Churchkey.
