Enticing, complex blend of blueberries, black cherries and blackcurrants balanced with basic elements of mead; honey, water. The mead that started Moonlight Meadery, Desire is a must with cheeses, Italian dishes, rich saucy meat dishes, or with Belgian chocolates. 73% honey, 9% black currant, 9% cherry, 9% blueberry.

As a mead maker myself, I’ll say this is a great example of everything a mead with berries should be. Quality stuff. Would pair well with roast pork, black puddings, rich meats.

375ml bottle from jcwatts, cheers John. Poured a deep purple thick body with no carbonation and no head, it is a mead afterall. Aroma/flavor of honey, cherry, berries, the nose is sweeter than the flavor. Sticky and syrupy body with light heat on the end and a lingering sweetness.

Delicious purple pour, still, massive fruit and honey nose (cherry comes through in particular for me). Super balanced, fruity but not overly sweet. Quite nice.

Dark ruby color slightly muddy purple as well. Smell is dark cherry, blueberry, cheesey, sulfite, honey. Taste is moderately sweet fruity with a lot of cherry, blueberry and currant. Fairly boozy but the sweetness controls it. Very much a dessert in a bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
