On [email protected] Rake, London. A gloomy looking red tinged brown colour with a reasonable lingering tan head. Nose was sweetish with some citrusy hop and nut notes. Flavour had plenty of initial caramel and evolved into some resinous hoppage. Slight earthy quality. Ok in the bitterness department. Not the most subtle affair, but tasty enough.

a tasty local brew enjoyed in it’s home town. The palete left me wanting a bit more but otherwise very grassy, hops, a bit of roasted malt and seems to do the bitter very well. I enjoyed this at the Toranado in San Fran.

Cask at Toad in the Hole. Clear amber with small fine head. Racy citrus and evergreen nose. Bracingly bitter from front to back, but nice tones of herb, toast, and... gumdrops? The spice ones, I mean. Finish is a mite sloppy; a touch more carbonation would be welcome.

Hand pumped at Toronado. Pours copper with a thin beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a carbonated caramel malt flavor and lots of tasty hop bitterness.

On cask at Beachwood about a week ago. Poured a reddish brown color with a creamy off white head. Nice looking. Aroma of caramel, BO, bitrus and cocoa. Flavor of fruit, citrus and caramel. I wrote down early, but I think that is supposed to read earthy. Good for the style.

Pours reddish amber with a beige head. The aroma is hoppy with tropical fruits and grapefruit. The flavor is herbal and bitter with vague hints of mango, papaya and a nice sweet middle before a very bitter end. Another excellent brew from moonlight.

Pours a honey color with beige head. Aromas of brown sugar with some funkiness and spiciness. Palate is a bit thin. Sugary start, then grass, leading to a bitter finish.

Draft @ Flavor. Pours a hazy amber color; fluffy light tan head with excellent retention and medium-bubbled lacing; great texture, beautiful show. Solid presence of red fruits, basic wet malts, and a very light earthy bitterness in the aroma; slightly reserved. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of earthy bitterness coupled to a slightly vegetal / green apple note that detracts; nice citrus / mineral bitterness, but the off note really complicates things; a touch misguided. Funky bitter (at least that’s what my notes say). Lengthy finish: earthy bitterness, fruitiness; nicely dry and bitter end.
