Draft. A hazy amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops and a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops on a lightly malty caramel back ground, leading to a bitter finish. joergen (28975) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 20, 2011

Cask at Toronado, San Francisco. Brownish amber, small head. Perfumy grapefruity nose. medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Some cookie malt and caramel, long very bitter finish. Very direct and assaulting. Lovely surface but not much depth.

(On tap - cak - Toronado) Clear, amber golden with a dense and lasting, off-white head leaving laces. Somewhat earthy nut aroma - a tad fusty. Soft and somewhat flat mouthfeel. Fairly light body with notes of nuts and caramel and then a rather bitter finish. 250307 mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 25, 2013
On cask at Toronado San Francisco, pours a clear copper with a small bubbly beige head. Nose is traditionally English, with notes of English malt, some coppery notes, and toasted rye crusty bread. Flavour brings out a mix of English ingredients and American-heavy hopping, with notes of toasted bread, piney hops, and some metallic notes, with a considerable astringency. Extremely drinkable, despite the over-the-top hopping. More abrasive than a traditional bitter, but well-executed. Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 16, 2017
Amber-brown, not much head, aroma is earthy hop but also some phenolic bubblegum...not much, but once you get it on your nose it becomes disproportionate. yngwie (17176) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 4, 2013
On tap at Toronado. A finger-thick off-white head sites in top of an amber body, nice curtains. The aroma is light and easy, with some fruits and some bread. There’s a pleasant and subtle bitterness in the flavor, dealing with the light malty sweetness. Some bread. Caramel hints too. Medium body, very soft. Lasting bitter finish. Certainly a nice one, maybe deserving a higher rating. 130804 brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 27, 2011
A: The beer pours an amber in color with a nice tall, creamy, white head.
S: Probably a bit more hoppy than the typical English ESB, but I like that. Nice foral hops with a light citrus character. Plenty of bready malts with a heavy toast character.
T: Starts off with a lot of bready malts and a light toast. A moderate bitterness to the beer which helps to break up the somewhat sweet nature of the malts. Floral hops and a touch of citrus also assist in that.
M: Medium in body with a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel.
O: Really a nice beer. One of the better Moonlight offerings and one I wanted to have after a long break from Moonlight beers.
