7/20/2011: Moonshine Able Danger IPA... Aroma: Nice, floral-citrus bouquet. Appearance: Yellow in color; creamy off-white head. Flavor: Weird green leaf/weedy; sulfurish finish; mild bitterness; obviously dry-hopped, but I don’t like the hop profile; bordering on vegetable/plant greens. Palate: Medium bosy; smooth and soft; soapy mouthfeel. Overall: Kind of blah for an IPA.
Draught sample (6.9% ABV) at Moonshine in Chicago, IL. Rating #12 for this beer.
Tap at the brewpub. Clear light gold pour with a small clingy white head. Aroma is citrus and tea - actually pretty nice - good for this place. Mild bitter taste that is balanced. Good offering. rubbishystuff (2537) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 11, 2012
At restaurant. Orangey color. Hops sit on top of the taste. Grassy then pine then citrus then floral. Decent. Serving: Tap Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 22, 2012

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy, orange-gold colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma has a nice mix of grapefruit pines and lemony florals. Some light grasses and a pale, grainy malt backing. Flavor is pretty nice with lots of piney citruses, some caramel, resins, grapefruit and orange florals, and some grainy pale malts. Finishes dry and moderately bitter with a nice, resiny grapefruit pine and grassy bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a nice IPA. Lots of citrusy hops with some piney resins, grass, and florals balanced with some grainy pale malts. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

On tap at moonshine. Pours golden orange with a small white head. Adoma is citrusy sweet with some floral notes, a bit grassy and some caramel maltiness. Flavor starts nice with a bright citrusy hop character, a bit of pine and some grassy notes before a more bitter and biting finish. There is some grain and biscuit notes there as well. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. Decent deyholla (11755) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 1, 2011
Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear golden yellow with a white head that lasted and laced. Aroma had a good amount of pine with a hint of citrus and a hay backbone. Flavor began with pine that mellows to more of a grain and a hay finish. Nothing special. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2011
Sampler flight on tap at Moonshine (Chicago, IL). Pours a hazy golden pour, touches of shiny edges, frothy whitish head that dies to a decent film, laces ok. Aromas are a moderate kick of juicy citrus hops, grapefruit and gumball Amarillo, lemons, grass, and florals. Touches of bready and biscuity malts. Some juicy fresh hops. Initial is lighter bodied, with a good kick of orange and grapefruit hops. Florals, lemons, and grass. Into the backend it dies out a bit with some bread and biscuits, pale malts, some crackers. Touch of more fresh orange and grapefruit, restrained hop complexity but not bad overall. Fairly fresh, a lot of orange comes into play. Sweeter. Finish is dry, citrusy, ok. hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 19, 2010
