Thank you for sharing Adamnowek! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG17. Black, solid thick mocha head. Nose is fascinating Sichuan massively with flowers, roses & mellow chocolate. Taste is Sichuan, big flowers, roses, herbal, mocha, sweet candy, herbal syrup, dark fruits syrup, low chili burn. Really unique profile, massive Sichuan doing all kinds of weird thing. Mocha herbal syrup body. Really dug it.

Sampled @ RBBSG 2017. Opaque black color, average to medium sized beige to light brown colored head. Weird herbal, caramel, liquorice and sichuan peppers (according to Tim) in the aroma. Taste malts, loads of liquorice and more liquorice mixed with sichuan peppers. Very weird, not my thing.

Pours dark brown, fizzy, with a large tan head. No much lacing. Aroma is full Sichuan cuisine, very distinctive if you are familiar with it, with strong Sichuan chili and Málà peppercorns. Taste gets dark malts as a base but the Sichuan flavours are strong, the heat and flavour of the chilies and the numbness of the peppercorn are here, very evident. So it gets a pretty vegetable taste, but it’s amazing, with a linger spicy feeling. Some chocolate notes as well, further. Medium body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish, for an amazing porter!

Fascinating brew. Black with a luscious little head. Aroma is tonnes of Sichuan pepper. Taste is forward with the pepper, but the level of spice on the tongue is really reasonable. As far as spicy porters go, this is one of the best.

Pfeffriger, deutlich rauchiger Antrunk nach Trockenfleisch. Im Antrunk wenig süß mit milden, stetig steigenden Pfeffernoten. Keine Bitterkeit, scharfe Gewürznoten, gefällig. Langer Nachhall, gut. 10/9/8/9//9

Bottle. Thanks Jon! Aroma is naturally peppery and spicy but some plummy fruitiness comes through too. Taste is great, initial pepper burst fading into light caramel and roast with a touch of smoke and chilli there too at the end. Really nice combination. Bit of a cola feel to it too. Like it!

Bottle from Craftissimo in Hong Kong, bought in November 2015. Almost black with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, some tar, dark chocolate and some pepper. Similar taste. Rather soft and relaxed. A pleasant one.

Sampled at Mechazilla’s epic insanity tasting session. Pretty crazy style but it somehow turns out quite well. Drinks like a nicely balanced smoked porter with a long numbing sichuan spiced finish. Like tantanmen in a brew! By far the most interesting one I’ve had from this brewery.
