(can, 33cl) Almost black coloured hue with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Hoppy aroma with notes of pine needles and herbal spice, accompanied by earthy and roasted malt. Balanced bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Mildly roasted malt character with notes of liquorice, dark chocolate, dried fruits, backed by resiny and hay-like hops; moderately dry and rounded bitter-sweet finish. Good. 14.II.18 Martin243 (1245) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2017

Can: Literally black, medium-sized loose tanned head; complex bitter-sweet nose of roasted malt and dried fruits, dominated by solid herbal to piney hops; solid bitter-sweet flavour, almost full bodied and pretty soft; lingering bitter-roasty and bitter-piney finish. What a solid sip...

Can from Craftissimo at home. Opaque cola brown pour with foamy tan head. Aroma is musty chocolate and coffee, bitter roasted dark versions of both. Tate is inky black roasted malt with a a fresh pine bitterness adding to coffee and dark cocoa. Palate is smooth with good carbonation. Tingly bitterness on the finish. Good! Can from Craftissimo, drank at home after Mildred's BP F/U. Pours an opaque dark brown with a creamy tan head and plenty of foaming lacing. Aroma: lots of dark chocolate chips, slightly herbal bitterness, coffee, roast dark malt, slightly chalky/oaty, light fruit - cherry, plum, fig, red berry. Taste: dark roast malt, quite bitter. Body: roasted bitterness, thin to medium, gentle carbonation, oat/grain chalkiness. Very solid, a black IPA that has dark chocolate/coffee flavours in a dusty/dark/chalky, not acidic/burnt, way (which is my preference). Nice notes of fruit in the nose too. visionthing (5664) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 11, 2017
