Black with a decent sized head. Taste and nose is of coffee, roasted malt and grassy hops associated with IPAs. Good, but not mindblowing. Price Paid: 2.95.

Dobre, klasyczne, czekoladowo-kawowe, z fajnie wyważonym chmielem. Nie przegięte.

Can from Modern Beer Co Maltby Street Market London and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Some dark chocolate. Some dry roasty malt. Still quite roasty for me. I still dont get bipas. Its less objectionable than most. But still i dont get a hoppy rldark roasted ipa. Its fine. Good chocolate.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham, shared with the KL tastiing group. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is grassy hop, light fruit, dry ashtray malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light crisp smoky bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a lingering bitter finish.

Keg at Spout Cafe, Leek. A deep brown colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, slight grapefruit, a little orange and subtle dark fruits. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, some grapefruit, slight orange, a hint of pine and subtle dark fruits. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, roasted, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Started off stouty but developed into a more well defined black IPA. Great moor beer.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely head like a white coffee. Nose - chocolate, toffee and grapes. Taste - fudge and honeycomb. Apples and resin at the back. A bit caramel shortbread. Palate - close tomedium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - nice beer, but definitely in the stout zone, not a black ipa for me.
