Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A black colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, nuts, some chocolate, slight smoke and subtle earth. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, nuts, some chocolate, slight smoke, a little earth and subtle dark fruits. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, roasted, coffee bitterness in the finish. A good, roasty Porter with coffee and nuts dominating. Subtle sweetness balances it out perfectly. Been 4.5 makes it really sessionable too. Good.
