COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Special;
What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

Can. Hazy amber-golden body, white head. Somewhat subdued lemony and herbal hoppy aroma. Similar taste, nice, full body, with the hops showing off further citric and herbal notes. Well balanced, tasty, but in this form, slightly too subdued this time. Still, a very tasty beer. Will rerate at some point.

Tap. Pours clear orange honey gold with white lace top. Aroma peach and melon with pine notes. Taste is medium bitter to sour, grainy. Palate is the upper edge of medium with a sticky feel, soft carbonation, and a sour finish. It would taste better in warm sunshine I suspect.

Amargor moderado. El postgusto sigue remitiéndome a queso.

can, bbd may 18; aroma and taste of pine, grapefruit, roses, slight traces of coconut and light caramel; light body, interesting and complex, enjoyable except this unelegant bitter finish.

Can (@The Bottle Shop, Bermondsey): Hazy, deep golden, bigger and stable creamy off-white head; moderate to solid herbal, lemony and piney nose, traces of pale malt well hidden; creamy MF, medium bodied; robust bitter-sweet flavour; lingering dryish piney and lemony finish, hops sticking to the palate. A goody from a very good brewery...

Good looking beer, hazy gold with an appealing foamy head. Does what it says on the tin in that it is very hoppy with a bitter tang. A bit citrus and pineapple in there. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
