COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Special;
What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

Visuellement un peu trouble. Très aromatiques, avec une amertume net (pamplemousse) en fin de bouche sans être envahissante. Une très bonne IPA.

33cl can from Prohibition Wines. Hazy orange gold colour with a white head. Very hoppy aroma. Oily texture and a taste of resin and blood orange. There is a sharply bitter finish and a long-lasting aftertaste of bitter orange marmalade. A really good beer with a taste somewhere between a barley wine and an APA.

0.33l can. Smells a lot just popping the can. It’s really hoppy and piney fruity in the room. On the pour it’s kinda blurry, golden orange in color and on the top there’s a nice medium sized quite side clinging white head. Piney and zesty with clementine and blood oranges on the nose. Quite fresh and nice aroma. It tastes a little older than it smells unfortunately. A bit closed in flavors. Not directly metallic, more hop pungent. It has a nice oily texture in the mouth and it’s just above average on the relatively large bubbled carbonation. Grassy and bitter, a little birch, sap. Wish I could have tried this a little fresher. Can see from the cap that the can was made in December.. 23.07.2016

330 ml can bought at HK Brewcraft in Central.

Looks: Translucent golden orange colour with a cloud of mistyyeast particles; Half finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent good sticky lacing and near zero carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant rich Ale malt, with strong peaches, strong mangoes, orange, candied fruits, honey, floral, sugar, pine, resins, spices, bread, light yeast, light lemon and light grass.

Taste: Medium sweet rich Ale malt, with strong fresh grapefruits, citrus peels, light caramel, strong floral, strong molasses, pine, strong resins, strong spices, dry biscuits, strong lemon, strong bitter hops and grass.

Body: Full body. Creamy and oozy palate.

Mouth Feel: Very rich maltyness in a thick and very creamy background with light caramel. Hoppy as usual, this time the grapefruits is fresh and very peely, which matches well with strong floral and spices. Strong nice malty sweetness well balanced by pine and strong resin ooze. Strong lemon to round. Wholesome!

Hoppiness: Peaches, mangoes, oranges, candied fruits, floral, pine, resins, spices and light lemon in nose. Fresh grapefruits, citrus peels, strong floral, pine, strong resins, strong spices, strong lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent fruity malty finish.

After Taste: Quite dry. Creamy and sweet bitter to mouth.

Comments: Other than IIPAs, this is the first time I have an IPA so rich in maltyness and so creamy, which is something I craved for this style for a long time. Its hoppiness has nice strong peachy aroma with fresh citrus peels, spice and oozy to taste. So damn enjoyable. One of the very best from Moor, will buy again for sure!
