COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Special;
What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2015 Bottle, 12C. Almost clear pale amber (leaving the cm of sludge at the bottom of the bottle) with a lovely white head that lasts and leaves clumps. Aroma of grapefruit, flowers, peach, honeydew melon, toffee, light bread, a little mint/ eucalyptus. Lightish bodied, very soft mouthfeel despite a fair bit of carbonation. Not really used to having an English beer that seems lighter than it is. Fruity sweet with a little firm toffee and a bit more bread. Citrus flavours - kumquat as well as grapefruit - are distinct and theres a little pepper. Quite bitter, but the bitterness emerges seamlessly. Excellent. [4.1]

Growler from a keg. Even more vibrant fruit but that softness of the bottle conditioned version is not there and the flavours are a little less well integrated. Still very good indeed. Leaving score as is, but [4.0].

Dark golden/light orange, slightest haziness. Firm and healty head, nice retention and lacing. Aroma is grapefruit and piney/resinous. Taste has just the slightest crackery malt base, citric notes (again, mainly grapefruit) and a good dose of resinous/piney bitterness. Overall obviously on the bitter side, averagely so for the style. Medium body, average carbonation. Overall enjoable; its highly drinkable and clean/flawless, but very much unremarkable.

Fat @ Irreale, Madrid. Klar guldfrgad med ett medelstort vitt skum. Dofter och smaker av malt, karamell, grapefrukt och tvl. Medelbeska. Inte min grej riktigt med all tvlen.

Aroma of tropical fruits and hints of malts, pine and herbs. Golden with a white head. Medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Medium to full body with a average carbonation. Overall a very enjoyable IPA. Plesant aroma with lots of fresh hops.

Can, from minutemat (thanks!), shared at game night. Hazy medium gold, lasting white head. Nice soft tropical fruit hop character, crackery malts, moderately bitter finish. Tasty.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear deep golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, melon, some mango, slight pine, a little bready malts and subtle spicy hops. Taste of grapefruit, orange, pine, some melon, slight mango, a hint of lime, subtle fruit, a little bready malts and spicy hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A long and smooth, spicy, fruit hop bitterness in the finish. Like all Moor beers its very flavourful, lots of fruit and spicy hops plus its smooth. A good, all round IPA.

Can. A herbal, thyme-like hoppiness pervades this very well balanced, not over-the-top IPA. Very good.
