COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Style: Black Ale Draught ABV: 4.7% Illusion is our latest creation, which is inspired by the awesome new beer style created in the States known as Imperial Black Ale. We really admire the profile of this new style but wanted a session strength version. We brewed ours at 4.5% instead of the typical 8%+, but wanted to retain the unique flavour profile. We sourced the special malt required from Germany and the hops from America to create a beer of stunning depth and complexity. The beer is black in appearance but lacks the acrid flavours associated with all other dark beers. This is achieved through use of the special German malt. The hop aromas and flavours are very intense, which we achieve through a major dose of dry-hopping in the cask. The result is a beer that wraps all the wonderful hop profiles of a pale ale inside a silky black exterior. It is truly an Illusion that deceives your eyes and dazzles your taste buds. Due to the rare nature of these special ingredients it is a limited release beer, but we are looking at making it more regularly available if possible.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Highly carbonated near-black pour resulting in a lively bubbly brown head that messes the sides of the glass nicely. This beer offers a surprising intensity for 4.5%. Lots of dark roast character, very malty with an equally potent piney hop blast, coniferous and grassy. Moor has done a fantastic job with this one-- a low-ABV black IPA that drinks much bigger than expected. A session brew that does not force one to compromise.

Dark brown with medium beige head. Nice hoppy aroma with citrus notes. Mild medium strong bitterness mixed with remarkable citrus sourness. Same mixture lasts in the aftertaste.

TET (2991) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JUN 7, 2017
A colablack beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma is balanced, tropical fruitness and roastiness of coffee, hint of chocolate. Taste has roastiness. some fruitness, quite dry, some burned notes in the end. Light+ bodied, smooth enough. Nicely balanced even with the low alc.%.

Fra keg på bryggeripuben 29 Apr 17. Svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum. Litt lacing. Lett sjokoladeraoma. Smaken lettrøstet malt. Syrlig tørr avslutning.

Keg, one-third pint at Moor Brewery Tap. Fawn-coloured head resting over a near-black body. Fair lacing. Roasted malt-fruity nose. The taste profile brings moments of toffee, liquorice and coffee. Malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Soft in the mouth. Good drinking. (Attending East Bristol Brewery Trail 29.04.2017).

330ml can. Pours black with some white head. Nose is blue cheese to me, just bitter umami creamy oddness. Pine, orange, grapefruit, lots of roast, something quite metallic. Not my cup of tea.

nihtila (3603) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 16, 2017
Taster from a can in Kultainen Apina, Finland. Dark brown. Nose is pine, dark malts. Tastes bitter hoppy, pine, chocolate maltiness, thin. 4.7% BIPA is just a no go to me, needs more body and abv.

anfractuosity (408) - - MAY 12, 2017
Highly carbonated. Off-white toffee coloured head. Lots of roastiness and bitterness from the roasted malts. Was expecting more fruitiness.

33cl can at home. Hazy brown with a small beige head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice bitter and subtle sweet tones. Roasted malts, hops, caramel and coffee. Good brew.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2017 Trochę tak nie za bardzo coś się dzieje. Tylko jeszcze w zapachu lekkie ścierki. I ogólnie lekko. Pusto. Nieciekawie.
