Style: Black Ale Draught ABV: 4.7% Illusion is our latest creation, which is inspired by the awesome new beer style created in the States known as Imperial Black Ale. We really admire the profile of this new style but wanted a session strength version. We brewed ours at 4.5% instead of the typical 8%+, but wanted to retain the unique flavour profile. We sourced the special malt required from Germany and the hops from America to create a beer of stunning depth and complexity. The beer is black in appearance but lacks the acrid flavours associated with all other dark beers. This is achieved through use of the special German malt. The hop aromas and flavours are very intense, which we achieve through a major dose of dry-hopping in the cask. The result is a beer that wraps all the wonderful hop profiles of a pale ale inside a silky black exterior. It is truly an Illusion that deceives your eyes and dazzles your taste buds. Due to the rare nature of these special ingredients it is a limited release beer, but we are looking at making it more regularly available if possible.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Highly carbonated near-black pour resulting in a lively bubbly brown head that messes the sides of the glass nicely. This beer offers a surprising intensity for 4.5%. Lots of dark roast character, very malty with an equally potent piney hop blast, coniferous and grassy. Moor has done a fantastic job with this one-- a low-ABV black IPA that drinks much bigger than expected. A session brew that does not force one to compromise.

Estetica 10 e lode, bella schiuma odorosa. 4,5° si beve in scioltezza. Poca personalità

Cloister bar, Edinburgh. Looks like a stout when poured. No discernible aroma. Not like a typical IPA. Not much of a hoppy taste. Drinkable, but not brilliant. (K)

Brown laced head nice black body. Roasted malt-coffee aroma/ nose. The coked, chocolate toffee, liquorice and coffee. Spice/ fruity bitterness With a long hop finish. Good beer

From can, it looks a bit reddish brown when pouring, but more black on the glass. Found it very bitter with heaps of stringent roasted malts. Not really for me, but I'm sure it appeals to others. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very tasty black IPA I picked up in London on my trip to Kew in 2017. Opaque in appearance and rich in roasted, bitter flavor. Chocolate and pine.

Alusmamuts (2136) - LATVIA - JUN 19, 2017
Dark brown with medium beige head. Nice hoppy aroma with citrus notes. Mild medium strong bitterness mixed with remarkable citrus sourness. Same mixture lasts in the aftertaste.

A colablack beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma is balanced, tropical fruitness and roastiness of coffee, hint of chocolate. Taste has roastiness. some fruitness, quite dry, some burned notes in the end. Light+ bodied, smooth enough. Nicely balanced even with the low alc.%.
