The aroma is slightly roasted. The color is deep red and it has light brown head. The flavor is lovely roasted, with a slightly sour background combined with notes of chocolate and roasted malt.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, reddish brown with a creamy, off-white head. Somewhat unclean malt aroma. Light body with accents of roasted malt and a whiff of smoke. Also notes of vitamins and minerals before a dry finish. 150906

Dark brown; poor head. Some malt and roasted malt aroma, outscored by a nice hop. Light body (light alcohol content), but really good mix of flavors, balance, in which a sharp coffee and roasted malt outstand. A very delicate coffee taste in the palate as well.

Bottle from M&S Stratford and drunk at home. Black deep ruby colour lasting beige head. Bit of buttery malt on the aroma. I love this beer on cask. Its just not as good in bottle, lacks the mouthfeel. Finish is decent some dark fruits on finish is also good. Nothing offensive. Lacks that wow factor of a cask beer.

Bottle at Cockney Pub, rhus. Pours a clear, almost black body with a small beige to tan head. Lightly roasted and toffeeish aroma, sure on the malty side, but with a little fruits and hops in the background. Chocolate and toffee, some roasted malt and coffee notes in the flavor. Not much fruityness or hoppy bitterness here either. Watery mouthfeel. Roasted finish. Boring but drinkable. Session style, not by-the-fireplace style. (080517)
