Cask condiioned - handpump - JDW Northampton. A black coloured beer with a nice white head. The aroma is ashy and slightly Earthy. The taste is lightly roasty and there is some sweetness, tobacco and wood. An intruiging beer. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2007
Cask in countign house for wetherspoons beer fest. Must be noted this was in perfect condition. This is totally my type of session ale, incredible full body for the %, chocolate through and through darker fruits giving that tiny hints of tartness, really well balanced an nothing dominates though its full. Amazing stuff that i cant wait to have again. Fin (10840) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2007
Cask at JDW The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon 04-11-07 A very dark brown pour with some ruby glints, off white head. Some roasted notes on the nose. Had a very slight sourness on the edge, maybe getting a bit tired (this had actually finished before I left the pub) burnt flavours from roasted malts but otherwise a bit lacking. leaparsons (10710) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2007
Cask, Quorn Fest 07. Black with a small beige foam. Aromas are earthy light malts with chocolate and weetabix. Flavours are smooth chocolate and weetabix malts with a dry finish. Light, yet tasty. RichardGretton (4773) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2007

Octoberfest, 2007. Black beer with a lightly malty aroma and a slightly malty and dry flavour. Overall a nice dry and malty beer.
Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2007, London. Medium black color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, coffee, smoke, ash, coal. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. Bobsy (194) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2008 Ruby colored liquid, with a medium sized white head. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Sublime coffee and caramel flavors jive with chocolate and dark fruits. There’s a lot of flavour going on for such a low percentage. Extremely satisfying and smooth mouth feel. Overall this is a fantastic experience, and a mild that would make an excellent session drink. cgarvieuk (25742) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 28, 2007

A Mes rate:
Gravicask at Kent Beer Festival. Mild is so hit and miss for me but when it is good I love it. Thankfully this was a real winner. Very dark chestnut brown colour. Lots of dark malty notes in the aroma with some lovely coffee underneath. Flavour is more of the same with some extra creamy coffe and some liquorice and chocolate. Glorious bitterness in the finish where the hops seam to appear out of nowhere. Gentle light sweetness all the way through. First beer of the day and it hardly touched the sides. A solid and very drinkable dark mild. Just how I like it. jammin7jg (139) - Burnage, Manchester, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2007
[CASK: The Waterhouse, Manchester 30/10/06] ARGH... Death in a glass. Strong coffey and chocolate taste that I nasty and undrinkable. Nearly made me blow chunks!
