COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mad King’s Fest - ABV 5.5% The Mad King Fest Beer aroma and taste are exactly in line with each other. Very straightforward bready and biscuity with a mild hop presence that makes it so drinkable. This is the German way. This Festbier is a very Bavarian-specific style of the region’s seasonal offering. While it may be reminiscent of a Helles (Lager) style in representation, it is stronger. It is very unique, refreshing, well-made, and wholly enjoyable.

Boring and forgettable. It hasn't Skunky off aftertaste as well. Sorry, I had to upload these old ratings. They were for me, not for uploading. And also I need 75 characters, hence this sentence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle:   Whole wheat bready beer start to finish.   A bit grainy and dusty.   Lacks some sweetness that would really balance this out.   Light caramel or toffee.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Quick finish, at least its fairly clean.   Light, a bit too whole wheat breadiness for my tastes.   Finish drops off too fast too.   However, tiz clean.

Gift from Terry - thanks! --- Solid, rich aroma of musty malt and bread. Clear amber brown color, small off-white head that slowly drops to a full rim, strips of lace. Taste is bready caramel malt that coasts through very light fizz to just a touch of hops in a medium finish. The flavor is balanced and works well, but seems oddly without carbonation. Too bad! It could be a keeper.

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a .5L bottle. Pours a nice, odd, yellowish, amber color. Nice sweet malty/bready aromas. Nice flavor too it as well.

16.9oz bottle poured into a shaker. The initial aroma is a faint bread dough, but shortly after that a strong, tart, red grape juice aroma overwhelms the nose. There are subtle grainy undertones, but it’s primarily red grape juice. As it settles down a bit, biscuits become more dominate on the nose. It pours a hazy-murky yellow-orange with a thin soapy and noisy (crackle) white head that. The taste is a medium / medium high sweet with a light bitterness to it. It’s a thin, watery texture with a light body and a thin, zippy carbonation. The grape juice is still there, but much lighter than the aroma leads on. Notes of roasted grains, biscuits, light licorice, a light roasted caramel touch, come through finishing with the roasted grains, light metallic. A fresh, clean, herb-like aftertaste sits lightly on the palate. Very easy drinker, session-able.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear light brown color with a small white head on there. Nose has some caramel and earthiness to it, and just a little bit of breadiness. Taste has some light bread elements to it, and is very slightly sweet. Meh.

Swing-top: Clear, dirty gold with a short, soapy head... Old grain malt aroma. Sweet grain malt, bready flavor. Slightly stale, a bit off.... Disappointing.

Bottle. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Sweet malts, bready yeasty notes, and light earthy notes. Not bad.

500ml flip top bottle. Hazy orange-tan body, thin white head. Butterscotch tinged aroma. Tastes a little old, faded. Sort of has a nice, cleanish body..but the flavors aren’t that great...funky fruity buttery tones that make it seem off...or maybe just cheap malt? Either way, not one I’d revisit unless I was in Germany.

$3.49 50cl swing-top bottle pours a clear golden color with small white head, a few rising bubbles and no lacing. Aroma is full of grainy, bready malts with some fruits. Taste is slightly bitter with some hops present in the finish - along with a slight metallic taste. Body is thin to medium without much carbonation. (This may have been an old bottle). Drinkable, but slightly disappointing. The packaging is the best part.
