One of the smoother dark beers I’ve actually enjoyed. This I think I could drink more than a few since the darks seem to fill me up. NIce color and did I mention smooth for a dark beer!
0.5l flip-top bottle in a bavarian beer set from marktkauf. pours a murky dark brown/chestnut with a medium off-white head and a lot of yeast sediment. aroma of apple pie, cinnamon, banana, caramel. flavour of tart apple cider, sour unripe apricots, bread, malts porridge, no banana. a bit weird, would need some more funk for it to be a proper sour. the yeast is nice though, gives it a fuller body than expected. Schwarze Weisse label. 500mL swing too into water glass (hey, it’s vacation and what I’ve got). Moderate brown with medium fine off. white head. Nose is warm malt with some vinegar. Wife suggests dried apricots and grilled peaches. Probably too cold, but the malty vinegar thing continues in the mouth. A bit one note. Drinkable, unremarkable. Aroma: wheat, with very light clove. Taste: dry with light malt sweeteness. Flavour: some dried bananas, some dark roasted bread notes.
Too flat for Dunkelweizen.

SWING-TOP 50 CL. Cloudy mahogany, big beige head. Classic aroma, but not too big. Wheat tartness, but not too fruity and not too spicy. The taste is simple, quite dry and a bit flat. I don’t know if this was infected or not.I’ve seen other reviewers mention the weird tart notes in this,so i assume this is intended.

"More apple in the nose and flavor than the traditional banana. Pleasant lightly fruity, spicy aroma with some toasted malt. Flavor much the same. Would have liked it far more than most if it wasn’t an intense gusher... I got about 200 ml out of the bottle :("

500 mln bottle labelled Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse. Muddy brown with big, soft head. No lacing. Aroma of vinegar, yeast and earth. Easy to drink but average tasting.
