Bottled at Moosbacher beer garden, Shekou, Shenzhen, China (as Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse). Hazy nut brown, rich head. Spicy and roasty. Dryish, yet fruity. Light bodied with rounded, almost crisp mouthfeel. Some slight caramel and red apple. Doesn’t lift off. Beerhunter111 (20362) - P´Castle, GERMANY - FEB 14, 2014

Hazy mud brown color, small off-white head. Sour, peppery-wheaty aroma. Wheaty with sour milk flavours, glue-like notes. Solid body, but nothing else - not very fruity, also too little roast or alcohol punch for a good dunkelweizen. Finish has some citric lemony notes.
Very dark, very lively with a big and soap-frothy head - self supporting, and after the initial pour it’s pretty tight. Banana, and some dense spicy aroma - promises good things. Good carbonation in the mouth, but on the excited side. Unfortunately, the promises from the aroma aren’t delivered in the taste. There is a very pleasant wheaty hefe taste, but just as you’re swallowing something odd jumps out. Unfortunately I can’t identify it; it’s not ’vegetably’, but it’s definitely ’organic’, part of it is muesli grain, perhaps. There’s also the spiciness back again - something not sharp or aromatic, but dark and almost, pungent. I didn’t find this particularly sweet, unlike other reviewers. Perhaps this is one where the quality varies. bhensonb (15096) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 12, 2008
Bottle as Schwarze Weisse (5.0%) from D&J Liquor in St. Louis, MO. Pours a dark cola color with a frothy tan head. Aroma is rather roasted caramel with something like grassy/spicy hop. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is dark malt, mildly sweet, with lots of spicy hop. Spicy, not bitter. Finishes a bit thinner than it started, but the nice flavors hold on to the end and beyond. Very drinkable. DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 9, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2011 Bottle. As Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse. 5.0%. Cloudy brown color with a big stable beige head. Aroma of fruity esters, bubblegum, taffy, marshmallow hints, slightly toasted bread and some spiciness - pretty big on the phenols. Sweet malty flavor with wheat, caramel, fruits, a bit of toffee, refreshing light citric tartness and some yeast. Medium-bodied. Really refreshing. Drinking this before breakfast and enjoying every sip. Tmoney99 (14377) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2007
