Molasses, raisin, and hop aroma, with wood and nut undertones. Relatively dark brown color with a huge almond colored head. Flavor is very, very sour, with only traces of bark. Weak moss finish. Enjoyable, but given the price, it isnt a great value.

500ml bottle. Unfiltered, thick amber-burgundy. Steady thin beige head. Very earthy and mellow. Very light on the palate, some doughy chocolate over a cloudy wheat body. Some light pungent tones, sort of a Dunkel, eastern European feel at times. Very easy drinker. Has a cask feel to it. Would love to have this beers in Moosbach.

A little caramel in the aroma. Not quite as heady as the original weisse but still very heady. This has an interesting flavor. Some caramel malt up front, followed by some sort of fruit perhaps. A hint of metal flavor in this one as well though.

Poured from a bottle into a weizen glass. Appearance is a dark brown beer with a huge head of beige foam roughly six inches thick. Aroma had coffee, chocolate, and a yeasty backbone of eaters. Taste is loaded with coffee and chocolate. Finish is a nice estery coffee.

Interesting... The listing is called Weissbier Dunkel, the pictured label reads Dunkle Weisse, and my bottle is Schwarze Weisse.

It pours a hazy light brown with a tall rocky head. Good lacing. The aroma has a strong, bready yeast content covering caramel/toffee malt and old banana, peels and all. Theres also a slight sour milk smell. The flavor is banana with a lightly roasted malt and a touch of smokiness and a mild bitterness that develops in the finish. Just in time for the Summer.

Sampled on 7/2/2010. This dunkel pours a medium dark brown color from a .5l swing-top bottle. Large sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is wheaty and spicy, with a touch of spiciness. A light to medium bodied dunkel. The malts are slightly roasty, wheaty and cereal. The hops are spicy and a touch earthy. A touch of funkiness maybe, and some fruitiness. A mild and mellow tasting dunkel. Decent carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and a touch of tartness.

500ml bottle in a glass. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of slightly roasted malts, some dough and bread, and light floral hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

Pours a clear golden brown with a fairly thick pale tan head that hangs around for a little. Aroma is malty with a strong overtone of fruit, mainly apple, and a hint of spice. Flavor is malty and a little fruity, not very well rounded but still acceptable. Texture is quite fizzy, just a bit on the watery side, but it leaves behind a decent tingle. Overall, not too shabby.
