Intrigued by the black wheat label. It tastes like a traditional Dunkelweizen. Lots of caramel, thick malt. Yeast is not overly spicy with much stronger banana type flavors. An extremely tasty example of the type. jimmiec (122) - Louisiana, USA - FEB 13, 2010
500-ml bottle Marcello’s Lafayette, LA - Aroma: clove, malt sweetness, wheat, vanilla; Appearance: hazy, mahogany brown color, white head, laces; Flavor: sweet, salty, clove, banana; Mouthfeel: medium bodied, average carbonation; Overall: lovely spicy, fruity, moderately dark Germain beer with refreshing a abrupt-dry fruity finish. Would love to be able to make a beer of this quality. wlajwl (6813) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUN 23, 2011
Dark brown-amber, the aroma is of wheat, fruit, and faintly yeasty. The taste is dark fruit and wheat grain. Difficult to pour due to the yeast, this was worth it, a very good weissbier. iamqueensblvd (247) - , Iowa, USA - OCT 29, 2009
wheat and slight banana on the nose...not a whole lot there to speak of. hazy brown pour with very light tan frothy head. Surprisingly unflavorful. sweet bread notes mixed with a little banana. not bad...just wish it had more flavor. Dacrza (980) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2009
Pours a dark brown, opaque body with thick, fluffy head that fills the Schneider Weizen Edle-Weisse glass (and then some)...malt and yeast esters float clove, banana and vanilla--quite a tantalizing combination, clear and crisp... thin, slightly effervescent in the mouth; the weakness may be in due part to its age (drink by 12/07?)... smooth with only a bit of back bite... the sightest sediment tickles with a soft acidic presence... the malt and yeast explosion simmers quickly, and what promises by look and smell to be a strong, thirst-quenching palate pleasure turns out only half right: smooth and easy drinking, yes, but the weight that would be the dunkel seems to have been misplaced...

500mL Bottle -- Pours cola brown with a small off-white head. Aromas of tea, lemonade, orange, roasted malt, caramel, and yeast. Some tartness, very refreshing. A delicious beer. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 11, 2006
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2009 Pours hazy light amber with orangish hues and a big foamy tan head.
Notes of clove, caramel, and mild banana. Taste tends more towards bread dough, phenols and sweet yeast, Medium bodied with lush carbonation. My first bottle of this beer was old and oxidized, which made the beer have more chlorine and plastic flavors. This bottle was fresh and delicious.

500 ml bottle from AirForceHops. Deep caramel with slightly lighter hues around the edges, can’t see through, long lasting thick white head. Head shrank to a thin layer which left larger bubbles of lacing. Noticiable floating sediment-yeast. Aroma of light bubble gum (reminds me of $.05 bubble gum from the corner store). As it gets warmer, aroma of light clove is apparent. Overall, the palate is of molasses. It reminds me of a warm molasses cookie. This is my first Dunkelweizen I’ve experienced and it’s one that I would drink again! A+ vinivini (2430) - Gomel, BELARUS - MAR 8, 2014
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2015 Deep brown beer with big foamy head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, roasted malt. Light to medium body. The taste is sweetish with lots of roast & yeast. The hops appear in finish. Dry aftertaste. Pleasant brew. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 31, 2007
