Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium brown.
Aroma is lightly malty (bread, caramel, nuts), with light notes of banana, dirty dish rag, clove, hint of wet dog hair.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly unclean. aracauna (3705) - Georgia, USA - JUL 10, 2007
Whereas the regular weissbier was mellow and pleasant, there’s a distinct sourness that isn’t pleasant. Maybe a little sulfuric. It’s one of those things that will get easier to drink as you go, but I’d not recommend this one at all. drpimento (3814) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 13, 2009
Got this bottle at Sam’s in Chicago. Bottle had a great little pop when I opened it. Poured with a big light tan foamy, frothy head and some lace. Light typical Bavarian Weisse nose. Flavor was the same but maltier and wheaty. Also a little metallic flavor. Body is good, full with good carbonation. Color is a brownish dark amber. Ok beer, I guess. Had many better dark weisses. Finish is ok. Could be a session if you can get around the metallic thing. coyforce (684) - California, USA - OCT 10, 2010
Ok, but not great. Taste is roasty and of wheat and yeast. pours a mahogany brown with a light white head. bigbish (715) - California, USA - MAR 9, 2011
Pours a nice, hazy brown color. Big tan head. Lots of banana on the nose. The flavor is very boring. I was hoping for a lot more. Some yeast notes, a touch of wheat, but overall very tame and boring. I won’t buy again.

(bottle) Pours with an overwhelming head, like a cola. Perhaps this was an old bottle, but flavor was very thin and unimpressive.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2007 Bottled as Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse. Hazy deep orange pour, thin white head. Lackluster wheat aroma, banana skins, stale earthiness. Flavor has an unpleasant bitter component, with crackers(triscuits), toasted malts. Finishes semi-dry, lingering. Overall unpleasant. It amazes me that the company who imports this chose this barely functional brewery as their initial offering in the U.S. market. Hehe, rookies. Bottle as Schwarz weiss. Poured like cola, a pale brownish color and a smallish foamy head, heavy big bubbled carbonation in the glass. Aroma lightly astringent, herbal, just a touch of clove. Flavor is wheaty with some banana. Fizzy. Unimpressive. AmEricanbrew (7080) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 27, 2009
Clear brown color/ fleeting head. Mild roasty malt aroma. light body. Tart dark wheat bread, cardboard malty flavors with unripe banana. not that good. fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 2, 2012
