Pours dark amber with minimal white head. Scent is rasiny, syrupy and yeasty. Flavor follows with the scent. A bit of raisin, some molasses, small amount of roasted malt that carries through into the almost hop-free finish. Mouthfeel is thin and flat. Not super impressed. boboski (1095) - Alabama, USA - JAN 11, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2007 Bottled as Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse. Hazy deep orange pour, thin white head. Lackluster wheat aroma, banana skins, stale earthiness. Flavor has an unpleasant bitter component, with crackers(triscuits), toasted malts. Finishes semi-dry, lingering. Overall unpleasant. It amazes me that the company who imports this chose this barely functional brewery as their initial offering in the U.S. market. Hehe, rookies. Bottle as Schwarz weiss. Poured like cola, a pale brownish color and a smallish foamy head, heavy big bubbled carbonation in the glass. Aroma lightly astringent, herbal, just a touch of clove. Flavor is wheaty with some banana. Fizzy. Unimpressive. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 27, 2009
Clear brown color/ fleeting head. Mild roasty malt aroma. light body. Tart dark wheat bread, cardboard malty flavors with unripe banana. not that good. fonefan (49293) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 2, 2012

500 mln bottle labelled Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse. Muddy brown with big, soft head. No lacing. Aroma of vinegar, yeast and earth. Easy to drink but average tasting. drmet (964) - Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, GERMANY - AUG 21, 2015
-pours a cloudy mahogany with a small,quickly dissipating,foamy,white head
-low to medium carbonation visible
-medium to high,fairly aggressive carbonation
I don’t know if this was infected or not.I’ve seen other reviewers mention the weird tart notes in this,so i assume this is intended.
Even aside from the vinegar (which doesnt belong in a Dunkelweizen),it’s a very poor example of the style. No caramel,No Roast. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

clear dark amber, fine beige head, sweet dark caramel aroma with a candy sweetness quality, rich caramel flavor, sweetness is balaned by a strange tartness,
Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 4/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 7/20
Cloudy wood brown with a soft, off-white head.
Caramel, dark sour fruit aroma.
Taste is a tangy/sweet dull caramel.
Grows more sour and leafy bitter as it goes.
Not enjoyable. Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - OCT 7, 2009
Aroma is of a spiced dark earthy bread, like a pumpernickel, and palate is sparkly and fizzy. Spicy notes are long lasting, but beer is thin and watery. Flavor does not hold up either. Certainly does not taste like wheat. Kind of icky, should not have bought it, but the bottle is cool. Might make a bong later with it.
