500 ml bottle from AirForceHops. Deep caramel with slightly lighter hues around the edges, can’t see through, long lasting thick white head. Head shrank to a thin layer which left larger bubbles of lacing. Noticiable floating sediment-yeast. Aroma of light bubble gum (reminds me of $.05 bubble gum from the corner store). As it gets warmer, aroma of light clove is apparent. Overall, the palate is of molasses. It reminds me of a warm molasses cookie. This is my first Dunkelweizen I’ve experienced and it’s one that I would drink again! A+ vinivini (2998) - Gomel, BELARUS - MAR 8, 2014
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2015 Deep brown beer with big foamy head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, roasted malt. Light to medium body. The taste is sweetish with lots of roast & yeast. The hops appear in finish. Dry aftertaste. Pleasant brew. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 31, 2007
(50cl bottle, labeled Schwarze Weisse, 5.0%, best by 3/07) Medium beige head atop a yeast-flecked copper/brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, nutty, some caramel, light earthy, lemon. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, some caramel, nut, cookie, light orange, lager yeast, faint earthy. Light-medium body. kiefdog (1827) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2008
50cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown with thick and frothy tan head that settles slowly and laces the glass. Aroma is sweet malt, yeast, wheat, caramel, ripe plum, maybe some notes of raisins. Flavor is similar with sweet malty notes, ripe dark fruit, yeast, wheat and hints of caramel. Light to medium-bodied with just a tinge of sour, bitter aftertaste. The finish is about the only thing I really didnt enjoy. dwyerpg (6410) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 21, 2010
A little caramel in the aroma. Not quite as heady as the original weisse but still very heady. This has an interesting flavor. Some caramel malt up front, followed by some sort of fruit perhaps. A hint of metal flavor in this one as well though.

One of the smoother dark beers I’ve actually enjoyed. This I think I could drink more than a few since the darks seem to fill me up. NIce color and did I mention smooth for a dark beer! SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 26, 2009
In the 0.5L flip cap bottle from HyVee CB. Pours a cloudy medium brown with a very large off white head. Delicious roasted caramel flavors with a delightful mild tartness- lemon in fact- finish. Banana aroma. DSG (15237) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 9, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2011 Bottle. As Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse. 5.0%. Cloudy brown color with a big stable beige head. Aroma of fruity esters, bubblegum, taffy, marshmallow hints, slightly toasted bread and some spiciness - pretty big on the phenols. Sweet malty flavor with wheat, caramel, fruits, a bit of toffee, refreshing light citric tartness and some yeast. Medium-bodied. Really refreshing. Drinking this before breakfast and enjoying every sip. PapaSkeetSkeet (1010) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - APR 25, 2010
Pours brown with a thin head. Smell is of intense spicy bitter wheat with a very subtle burnt flavor resulting from the darker roast. Very pleasing. Flavor is of the same profile, fairly mild, yeastier. I like this beer; I could drink a lot of them. jb (3407) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 12, 2011
One of those fancy recappable bottles. Very heavy sudsy foam on the pour, stayed present quite a while. Thick sudsy residue left. Hazy amber, very attractive. Nose is subtle, yeasty, bubblegum, clove. Palate is full for the style, plenty of body, tastes of banana and tea. Dry. Very good.
