Wow....This beer shows that Germans originated the hefe. Im suprised this isnt scoring higher with others. Aroma of full on banana with wheat and yeast. Pour was a lighter dark gold with a 1 finger white head with lots of small bubbles. Taste was full blown banana with bread and yeast in the throat. Strongly carbonated and deliciously semi dry. Glad this was 500.

Rated 2/2/07: Not your ordinary Hefe, but its interestingly a good drink. Aroma is a little mellow some decent malt, grainy and wheaty with some sour fruits. Dark yellow pour with a light orange tint, huge fizzy white head that thickens up and settles down. Mouthfeel is alright nothing too spectacular. Taste has a hint of banana but I cant stop thinking of applesauce. Its odd but nice, now this one is about 4 months past the best before date, but there is a nice flavor of unsweetened applesauce that accompanies this beer. Ahhh, crisp clean finish. Not bad.

Swingtop bottle. Green apple, banana and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy dark orange-yellow with nice big head. Sour malt, lemon and banana flavor. Decent Hefe - probably better fresh from the tap.

Swingtop bottle at Rathskeller, Indy. Poured cloudy yellow color with a huge frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate sour citrus and spice aroma. Light to medium bodywith a watery texture. Light sour citrus flavor with a light sweet finish with a short duration.

Honey, grain aroma, and oddly molasses. Honey and cereal flavor. Sweet. Graham crackers. Great bottle, blah label. Finishes out with some light astringency. Cloudy orange. Big head. Fair, needs a wedge. At Rathskellar, Indianapolis.

500ml swingtop bottle. Best before 0408. Hazy orange hue. Thick finger of white head. Big nose. Lotta orange and cereal wheat. Touch corn and banana. Rather dry and perfumy. Big citrus acidity. Lively yet drying. Acidic bitterness. Tart. Not too quenching. Off-putting finish. Effervescent and estery. I didnt really care for this one.

500 ml swing top...golden pale color, large white head, banana/wheat aroma...palate is fairly carbonated with a rather watered down feel, taste is fairly bland certainly not like a traditional hefe.

(50cl bottle, best by 3/07) Large frothy white head atop lightly hazed straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, clove, some lemon, faint banana. Taste is mild, medium sweet, bread, light banana. Watery light body.

Bgelverschluflasche: Slightly hazy, big rocky "dirty" head, visible carbonation; distinctive wheaty/yeasty and citrus-fruity nose, also; almost a bit bitter and tart; moderate sweetish flavour; citrus-fruit, again, in the finish, followed by some faint "hoppy" tartness. A refreshing, well made Weizen...........
