Our pilsner is a more traditional example of the world’s most popular beer style. The German medium-bodied lager is brewed with domestic pilsner malt & Hallertauer Hops for a crisp, hoppy flavor.

Scubatrip (610) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - AUG 24, 2010
On tap at the brewpub, pours a pale clear yellow, nice lacing. Bitter taste is about all there is to say. Grassy, but not freshly mowed grass. Finishes bitter, not a favorite.

Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2010
On tap at Moosejaw. Poured clear bright golden with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up bright grass and lemon over honey and lesser bready malts. The flavor found honey and odd vegetal notes at the core.. spicy edges with black pepper, lemon, and grassy bitterness. Light-bodied and sharply bitter on the palate.. not really a pleasant drink.

On tap. Pours a clear very light amber. Nose has slight sweetness, nice citrus and grassy hops, light malts. Taste is crisp and refreshing with a fair bit of citrusy hop bitterness balanced by light malts. Nice.

Brewery located in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Clean, easy to drink. Would drink again.

triguy84 (235) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Pours a medium gold color with a thin white head. No noticeable aroma. Hints of malt and hop flavor. Medium body with a definite hop finish. Spot on for a pilsner.

Sampler @ the brewpub. It has a thick straw color with a thick head and a sticky lacing. Aroma is lightly lemon with a herbal hops, white bread, and some mineral malts. Taste is heavier with a sweet herbal hop finish. Its a good pils but it just doesn’t pop and not vibrant enough in its hoppiness. A pils is something that needs that "crisp" character, which is missing here.

Once upon a time, I liked Pilsners. That time has passed. On tap at the brewery, sampler flight. COlor is mosly a clear coppery gold. Some hops on nose. Very bitter flavor.

CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a clear golden bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of fairly fresh European hops and some pale malt. Body starts with decent thickness for the style with an earthy piny hop presence to balance the lightly sweet malt. Finishes more bitter and dry. A pretty decent pilsner.

Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 25, 2007
On tap at the brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, pours a clear golden amber brew with a slow dissolving white head. Decent retentionand lacing for a pilsner. Aroma of sour apples, a touch of citrus, light malt and some grass hops. Taste is lightly carbonated, piney hops, medium body, and a bitter aftertaste. This brew is more like a premium bitter than a pilsner and quite good.
