Our pilsner is a more traditional example of the world’s most popular beer style. The German medium-bodied lager is brewed with domestic pilsner malt & Hallertauer Hops for a crisp, hoppy flavor.

Clear golden body with healthy off-white head. Aroma is floral and earthy. Taste is exceptionally bitter -- floral and earthy. Medium body.

deyholla (11908) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 14, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of earthy bread and earthy German hops. Flavor is similar with earthy grain and bread up front with earthy musty German hops coming out in the finish.

Draft. Light berry and barley malt aroma. Moderately yellow with moderate head and effervescence. Sweet berry, barley malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Medium body. Not bad - very fruity for a pilsener.

PorterPounder (8178) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 24, 2005
On tap at the brewpub/restaurant in the Wisconsin Dells. Medium golden pour, decent sized white head. No real apparent aroma. Flavor has a bit of honey sweetness to t with some buttery back end notes. Clean, smooth, even mouthfeel, goes down smooth. Overall, a very good brewpub pils.

Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2010
On tap at Moosejaw. Poured clear bright golden with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up bright grass and lemon over honey and lesser bready malts. The flavor found honey and odd vegetal notes at the core.. spicy edges with black pepper, lemon, and grassy bitterness. Light-bodied and sharply bitter on the palate.. not really a pleasant drink.

CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a clear golden bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of fairly fresh European hops and some pale malt. Body starts with decent thickness for the style with an earthy piny hop presence to balance the lightly sweet malt. Finishes more bitter and dry. A pretty decent pilsner.

3.4
JPDIPSO (6257) - Wauwatosa, USA - FEB 18, 2003
Golden color with a small off white head. Light orange aroma. Light malt and balanced bitterness. More like a light pale ale. A decent beer, but too sweet and fruity for a pils.

3.3
Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 25, 2007
On tap at the brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, pours a clear golden amber brew with a slow dissolving white head. Decent retentionand lacing for a pilsner. Aroma of sour apples, a touch of citrus, light malt and some grass hops. Taste is lightly carbonated, piney hops, medium body, and a bitter aftertaste. This brew is more like a premium bitter than a pilsner and quite good.

1.3
badgerben (5254) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - APR 18, 2005
Yellow color with a thin head. Very off aroma of malts. Ugh... moldy and stale malt taste. Gross.
