Aroma: toasted malts, dark chocolate, light coffee. Appearance: black, small, creamy, beige head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: bitters continue, remain weak, nice toasted malts and some filter coffee. Overall: nice Porter, well-balanced in aroma and palate. Pretty black brown, almost opaque, thin brown head fades to a ring. Smells like dark fruit and ever so slightly of wet dog, or fresh snow. Taste is nice roasty, lightly sweet brown sugar and roasted malt, fades to bitter roasted malt finish. Such great balance. A little heavy on carbonation, but not bad, and bubbles are very fine, slightly sharp, body is not heavy, but not thin, again great balance between smooth and rich yet drinkable. This is my idea of a great porter.

4oz pour at the brew pub. Pous black with a medium tan head...retention and lacing are average. Aroma has light smoke. Flavor is very roasted and has some smoke, molasses,citrus, and coffee. Mouthfeel is silky and creamy with a dry roasted finish that lingers. Pretty well made, hate to say it but moose tooth is stating to taste a bit better than piece brewery. Dark brown in color, clear with a thin head. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Nice porter aroma this was a very good porter. Tasty ad the pizza and this beer was perfect.
