Keg at Lady Grey’s, Newcastle. Hazy light amber with a pink tinge. Aromas of lemon sherbet and sweet shop, light cherries. Cleansing and refreshing.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a pink-amber coloured beer with a sweet cherry and vanilla flavour, biscuit notes and a dry marzipan and creamy fruity finish.

Cask at Nicholson pub. Hazed orange pour with some red tones. Head is slightly pink. Aroma is sweet artificial cherry and bready wheat malt. Flavour is clean wheat with some yeast esters and a slight tart finish. Decent stuff.

Cask conditioned at The Chequers, Oxford. Amber with white head. Quite a sweetish beer, fruity, malty with the vaguest hint of sweet cherry juice. Short on the palate apart from lingering sucrose. Ok, but I don’t fancy going back to it.

Cask conditioned handpump Clachan London 22/07/13. A pinky brown coloured beer with a whitish head and lace. A reasonable dunk of sour cherry over a decently bodoed base beer. Works well enough in an English kriek kind of way. Certainly drinkable.

EdKing (2640) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2013
Cask in Dog & Duck, SOho. Colour is touch hazy golden brown bitter looking, thin white head. Nose is malty, grainy, bread, sugary sweet cherry. Taste is basically like a brown bitter with some cherry essence in it. Hardly sour at all as the label states. There’s a bit of bread, doughy Bakewell tart and the a slight sweet tartness on the finish which isn’t entirely pleasant.

JanEric (1241) - Meppel, NETHERLANDS - JUL 9, 2013

RichTheVillan (8110) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2013
Cask at The Shakespeare; cloudy amber pour with thin white creamy head, grassy and spice aroma, the underlying cherry taste is pleasantly balanced with the spicy wheat beer action.
