"A fruity amber beer with more than a hint of hops. The bitterness carries on in the aftertaste. A superb session beer."

A classic bitter, great hop flavours, very balanced session beer, golden in colour, tight creamy head.

Cask - The Cottage, Norwich. Fine though lasting moderately loose white head; clear golden body. Aromas are on the sweeter side of the citrus scale with some floral hop and a bit of apple. Earthy on the tongue, some yeast with a light citrus note and toasted malt flavour. Light to medium soft body, short bitterness with a lingering, dry toasty aftertaste.

Classic bitter pour, dry and herbal with a pleasant medium bitterness and a slightly fruity, strawberry, character. Nice.

Cask, Hugo’s, Tynemouth. My favourite from the Mordue stable. Great session bitter. Caramel undertone matched by a great hoppy flavour that hits the tongue and gives good bitterness and a fine lingering finish. Fruity and refreshing.

renffisch (891) - london, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2009
pint at spoons in raynes park. Hazy straw colour, good white head and decent lace. Woody hop nose, quite bitter, but nothing special. Fruity sweet middle and steely finish. Decent.

Cask @ Masque Haunt ’Spoons. Slightly hazed amber with a lasting off white head. Nose of tropical fruits, sweet malts and juicy hops. Taste is much the same, quite sweet but just enough fruit and hop to keep it interesting.

Served with a tight sparkler in the Sir Michael Balcon (JDW) in Ealing, the barman knew his stuff though and pulled it through without knocking all the condition out. Dark gold verging on amber with a big fine head that soon settled down and went lacy. Aromas of freshly squeezed orange juice, plus sweet malt and a hint of pinewood, then the body is surprisingly full for a 3.8%, with more fruit - dried apricot and perhaps a touch of pineapple - and a pronounced and lingering bitterness. A well-balanced session beer, though the orange juice thing was a bit startling at first!

downender (9003) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 06/09/09. Golden in colour with a decent white head. A hoppy session bitter with a touch of sweet malts and decent, bitter finish. Good.

Half, cask in perfect condition and served at the right drinking temperature at the Halfway House - a gem of a small pub in central Edinburgh. Copper-amber body. No head, but nice lacework on the glass. Floral fruity smell. Fruity taste with dry apricot and developing bitterness to the ending. Rounded and refreshing. 24.10.2008.

Cask on handpump at local club. Light golden with white head. Excellent clean crystral clear, hoppy bitter but a not citrus bitterness. Very pleasant on a hot summers day.
