Draught @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pours dark orange with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of caramely malts, pine, herbal hops and citrus. Taste is sweetish, caramely malty and resinous with some herbal hops, pine and citrus. Finish is lingering bitter, sweetish and caramely malty with some pine, citrus and herbal notes. Okay, sweetish old skool west coast DIPA.

Flaske.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2017 Tap @ Beer Temple. Eerste indruk kale egel? Mmmm moeten maar proeven. Mooie schuimer. Oftewel mooi mooi moutig biertje.

Bottled. At Derat. Full bottle. The aroma has quite some malts, some pine and citrus. Cloudy, orange coloured beer with a medium sized off-white head. The taste is moderate bitter with malt biscuit toffee sweetness and citric bitterness. Okay American Strong Ale but it really looks bad.

MelvinKalksma (1676) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 25, 2017

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit, pine, hops, citrus and grapefruit.

Appearance:
Turbid amber/orange beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium off-white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit and pine; ends slightly bitter and medium dry and with hops, citrus and grapefruit.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Great sweet start, backed up by a lot of orange and grapefruit peel. The aroma could have been stronger and the palate could have been less dry.
