Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish, grass, roasted grain, weeds, sour coffee, burnt caramel, bark, nuts, cocoa, unripe banana. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, roasted grain, sour coffee, burnt caramel, grass, hay, ashes, weeds, cocoa, bark, unripe banana. Medium bitterness, harsh burnt and slightly watery mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.
33 cl. bottle under the "Smoked Pecan Porter" alias. No date stamp. Brown-black body with a thin creamy film on top. Aroma has bread, molasses, chocolate and light smoke. Tastes of dark bread, molasses, earthy cocoa, toasted malt, peat and ash. Dashes of spicy rye and smoke here and there. Maybe some wheat in the long finish. Medium body has smooth low-medium carbonation and a good balance. 60minuteman (1743) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 10, 2016
Pint at WOB. Meek aroma is nut, malt, hop, coffee. Medium body, toasted, with very little noticeable alcohol. Quite nice. But for $10.50 wouldn’t get it again. vyvvy (6515) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - DEC 6, 2016
The newer pours reddish brown with a tan head. The aroma has peat, nuttiness and more of a brown ale maltiness than porter. It has a medium body with light carbonation. The taste has lots of toasted/roasted malt, heavy smoke, spicy hops and toasted nuts. Pretty good. jandd1983 (4377) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - DEC 4, 2016
Bottle. It poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and nuts. The taste was similar to the aroma with more roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and nuts. Not bad.

On tap@ pours deep brown, almost black with beige-off-white head. Aroma -flavor: intense dark malts note, which takes on chocolate, hint of coffee, nuts. Finish is dry, slightly bitter. Body is medium, texture soft, carbonation medium. Lonick (2114) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 4, 2016
Keg @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pours black tan head. Nose and taste is the same chocolate and nuts. A simple beer but not bad, a touch thin. Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 19, 2016
On tap @ Arendsnest. This is a deeper dark brown colored on, on top a really good looking hefty lasting and superbly lacing brownish head. Smells mild smoked and definitely chocolaty. Nutty? Sure, I’d say so. Quite roasted also on the aroma. Nice. It så a somewhat thinnish not directly watery but not far off either mouthfeel and it’s soft and prickling on the carbonation. Mild smoky beefy taste that’s loaded with quite nice tasting nutty chocolate. There’s hints of wet grass and toasted nuts often found in Ben and Jerry ice cream. Lots of flavor for sure. Like it. 24.09.2015 Svesse (8613) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 3, 2016
(Draught at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2016) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, nuts and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, cacao, roasted nuts and a balanced cacao bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made with a generous dose of roasted nuts. Nice one.
