draft that poured a dark brown with light tan head. nicely carbonated. the aroma brings out the roasted malts, hints of chocolate and slight coffee notes. all of these are typical for a porter. there was a flavor I couldn’t figure out maybe a bit of nuttiness wasn’t totally sure but it didn’t detract from the flavor only enhanced it...nice roasted malt flavor with those hints of chocolate and coffee..very drinkable.

Draft pour. Pours a darker brown to black with a beige head of foam. Aroma is toasty and nutty. I get a bit of dry, ashy notes. Some caramel sweetness peaks through in the taste and finishes more on the dry bitterness side.

Aroma of chocolate, very light smoke and medium roast. Appearance is garnet black with scant tan head. Flavor matches the nose; a bit more smoke than the nose. Palate is medium, sticky and very soft. Solid.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, faint hops. The taste is sweet malts, chocolate and mild roasted malts. Medium bodied. Too sweet, but still pretty drinkable.

12 oZ draft at the pub. Aroma of coffee chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is sweet salty with a bitter finish. Great balance of flavors, including coffee and chocolate and a nice malt bill. Mellow finish, tad thin, needs more hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
