Bottle, courtesy of Hermann. Deep rich warm brown colour, thin white foam. Nice malty hint caramel, clean, correct bitterness. Nothing too assertive but well made and drinkable, avoids the metallic nature of too many Alts I have tried. Dedollewaitor (16178) - Odense, DENMARK - APR 9, 2016

50cl freshly bb06/20145 catered by McTapps, danke. Looking forward to this off the beaten DüsselAlt, going by their Pils. Diluted toffee in the nose, old cola, whiff of herbal hops which immediately dominate the taste profile over the style-typical dry toasted cara/Vienna malts. At the same time quite sweet for the style, with a lingering herbal, "twiggy", slight mineral finish. Expected more considering their Pils, this Alt both surpasses what I like about the style in bitterness, while delivering less of that ESB-like subtle toastiness. Malzig-herb. Nett bitter, angenehme Malztöne ohne zu süßlich zu sein. Herb-bitterer Nachgeschmack, deutlich milder als die Düsseldorfer Altbiere, aber von der Grundtendenz gut & in dieser Richtung. Lecker! ThirstyBird (2953) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2014
Pours an oringish brown color with a light tan head. The smell is roasted malt, mild brown sugar, a bit nutty. The taste is brown sugar, roasted malt, some fruit ending dry and somewhat bitter. The body is Light+ with average carbonation. A bit sweet then abruptly dry, roast and bitter.
