Zlotta (3416) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - JUN 27, 2017
0.3 l on tap at ’Fiege’s Stammhaus’. Clear, dark brownish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy, a bit fruity aroma of caramel, red fruits and toasted nuts. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, malty, slightly grassy-spicy and a little fruity taste of caramel, toasted nuts, some bread and a touch of raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and minimally roasty finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent Alt.

Bottle, courtesy of Hermann. Deep rich warm brown colour, thin white foam. Nice malty hint caramel, clean, correct bitterness. Nothing too assertive but well made and drinkable, avoids the metallic nature of too many Alts I have tried.

Dedollewaitor (16178) - Odense, DENMARK - APR 9, 2016
Bottle @ Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. Pours ruby amber with a creamy white head. Nuts, syrup, dust and corn. Poor.

bartlebier (4027) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2014
50cl freshly bb06/20145 catered by McTapps, danke. Looking forward to this off the beaten DüsselAlt, going by their Pils. Diluted toffee in the nose, old cola, whiff of herbal hops which immediately dominate the taste profile over the style-typical dry toasted cara/Vienna malts. At the same time quite sweet for the style, with a lingering herbal, "twiggy", slight mineral finish. Expected more considering their Pils, this Alt both surpasses what I like about the style in bitterness, while delivering less of that ESB-like subtle toastiness.

Calisky (2961) - ALSACE, FRANCE - NOV 9, 2014
Bottle from trade with McTapps Couleur sombre caramel, mousse très légère. Nez leger caramel un peu grillé. Gout de caramel toasté et doux, notes amères et fruits secs. Notes pain et douces en fin de bouche. Corps moyen et rond en bouche.

Erzengel (8894) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 27, 2014
Malzig-herb. Nett bitter, angenehme Malztöne ohne zu süßlich zu sein. Herb-bitterer Nachgeschmack, deutlich milder als die Düsseldorfer Altbiere, aber von der Grundtendenz gut & in dieser Richtung. Lecker!

ThirstyBird (2953) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2014
Pours an oringish brown color with a light tan head. The smell is roasted malt, mild brown sugar, a bit nutty. The taste is brown sugar, roasted malt, some fruit ending dry and somewhat bitter. The body is Light+ with average carbonation. A bit sweet then abruptly dry, roast and bitter.
