Bottle Conditioned.
Pipkin pale malt, Crystal malt and maltose syrup. Challenger and Goldings hops. Morland’s original yeast.
A quite unique, strong, bottle-conditioned ale with an original gravity of 1059, full of flavour and character with a richly malted aroma and a nice, smooth finish. From a blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts, this is a rich and satisfying beer with good presentation. A strongish beer in terms of alcohol, but there’s no bite from this Hen’s Tooth!

Looks delicious in your glas. Much like liquid amber. High bitterness, and lots of hops could be traced. Fruits and caramell.

500mL bottle from Vintage Wines. Malty aromas, skunky hops. Clear amber with a mostly fading white head. Strong, sweet, malt-dominant, light booze, lightly herbaceous. Full bodied, sticky.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear copper colour with a frothy white. The aroma is malt, rich sweet red berry fruit, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a rich sweet malt, fruit, dry crisp woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Piana obfita o średnich i dużych oczkach, utrzymuje sie. Kolor klarowny bursztyn. Aromat słodowy owocowy przyjemny. Smak uderza wysokie nasycenie i żelazo. Jest słodowośc karmel, lekko owocowe. Klasyczne angielskie ALE z średnią do wysokiej goryczką lekko wyczuwalnym alkoholem. Przyjemne dobre. Ciekawe, warto spróbować choć zachwytów nie ma.

Butelka 0,5 l. Barwa ciemno miedziana, klarowna. Aromat chlebowy, delikatnie karmelowy. W smaku brak pełni.

Very nice strong ale. Pours golden caramel with strong cloud, or maybe my glass was dirty. Yates if vanilla and toffee apple with strong malt flavour and a little hop bitter on the end. Not bad, is to Old Speckled Hen what KingGoblin is to Hobgoblin. Essentially the same but stronger.

500ml Bottle. It poured well - a dark amber with a off white and long lasting head. But for some reason I got a strong taste of aniseed and coffee- I hate aniseed and I hate coffee Horrible wont be buying again

Bottle. BBE Sept 2018; Drank Sept 2017 - Clear amber in colour. Good foamy off-white head. BCA; sedimented. Very malty; toasty malts, grainy, caramel/toffee, slightly nutty. Fruity; dried fruits, raisins, plums, apple. Mildly spicy. Sweet malty caramel and fruity throughout. Quite dry. Moderately bitter malty finish with a lingering slightly sour note. Pity about the clear bottle. OK. Better than expected. (2017-09)

Bottle. Orange amber with white head. Malty aroma. Balanced flavor no alcohol notes. Long malt finished. Is bottle conditioned an attempted to make cask ales in bottles?

phenomenal british strong ale. really light in colour for the type of brew that this is. on the nose it is reminiscent of hobgoblin and other ruby beers, but it tastes so much stronger. fantastic hoppy aftertaste that just grows and grows. essentially, it is old speckled hen on steroids. a cracking brew from morland.
