UPDATED: FEB 1, 2018 Bottle. Nice clear amber colour, small head. Aroma is alcohol, caramel, dried fruit. Medium body, soft carbonation. So much alcohol, for heaven's sake! Nope.

A christmas gift,I can taste the sherry oxidised flavour from the barrel aged beer, which makes it interesting. Its got a brandy taste, quite sweet and alcohol for a strong ale , if this was Belgian i would guess it was 8-10% Rich fruit cake , christmas puddding with brandy, resin note , alcohol, rich bannoffe , alcohol, earthy, leather, caramel, malt loaf, hint of funky sherry, Oak is subtle definite woody not tannin not really oak - more like aged rum flavour.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2018 Decent variation on the classic, although not my favourite in the range. I find it too harshly bitter, but in the way that the bite is quite nasty, rather than hoppy bitterness. That aside, I’m a moany git and it is thoroughly enjoyable. That being said, give me an Old Speckled any day! Haha!

500ml bottle. Pours red brown. Caramel, strawberry, orange, cherry, biscuit, few British ale yeast esters, a nice oakiness. Not too carbonated. Pretty yum.

Roestbruin bier met weinig wit schuim. Geur: brood, wat limoen, karamel. Smaak: mout, licht zoet, gebrande karamel. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: licht bitter, droog.

NotABeerFan (52) - GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - OCT 27, 2017
Smashing strong ale. Has a similar strong taste as Innis and Gunn but a little more malty and less whisky notes. Nice dark ale.

ianwelby (1616) - SCOTLAND - OCT 24, 2017
Clear amber, thin bubbly head. Fruity, alcoholic aroma with a touch of caramel. Taste has caramel, dried fruit, rich malt. It's quite smooth despite it tasting as strong as it is. Decent.

Erzengel (10018) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 10, 2017
The beer starts mild and smooth. Easy to drink with hints of dry raisins and caramel. Smooth mild, malty with a nice bitter-sweetish rich finish.
