Bottle from mainbrew.com Gorgeous crystal clear amber color and frothy white head. Classic brittish Diacetyl nose with some malt, hops, and a touch of skunkiness (clear bottle) On the palate I get botterscotch, toast, spicy hops and wood. Rich malty body, but not overly so. A touch of skunkiness (clear bottle). A good mix of old specled hen and old suffolk! A great beer overall and would buy again, good value! Breweries, please do not put your beer in clear or green bottles!

Mahogany body light beige head Restrained malty herbal nose. Herbal bitterness is balanced with hints of caramel. It is distinctive but I can't say what it is. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sandy coloured creamy head left a cover on a translucent mahogany coloured, effervescent body. Big aroma of malt & berries. Medium bodied, smooth on palate & prickly on the back - just like an English Bitter should be. Malty with vanilla & a nutty edge to the fore with a long bitter aft of berries & general tanginess.

11/10/16 bottle at home. Yes I know it's mass produced nowhere near Abingdon, but this is still a mighty ale. Solid malty taste and smoke-tinged palate add up to a good experience. Tempting to drink a few until you notice it is 6.5% ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cl bottle. Copper/Brown with rocky, lasting, dirty white head. Aroma is a bit on the less intensive side but with notes of dark honey, toast, nuts, a bit of vanilla, some dried fruits and a hint of warm alcohol. The beer has a creamy mouth feel. The taste of this beer is well rounded and extremely balanced. Deep and warm pint that is easy to drink yet satisfying. Medium sweet, warming alcohol, nutty and toasty with noble bitterness that is lingering delicately in the finish. Really nice to be honest. Could be easily overpowered because of subtle profile but if your taste buds are sharp, youll get a nice experience.

Served in a Teku glass from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear orange-red amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is toffee and caramel, some grassy notes, red fruit, banana esters. Taste is a complex combination of toffee, raisins, malts, biscuit and a hint of red berries. Bitter-sweet with subtle bitter finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Very fine, highly enjoyable and very well crafted ale!

Poured from a pint bottle into nonic pub glass the way the good lord intended. Mostly-clear orange amber colour with off-white head, thin but long-lasting with a little lace. Tasted a lot like a good Scotch ale. Malty, caramelly, biscuity. Earthy, marmalady hops, dried apricots, hint of beneficial oxidation. Light-medium body, low carbonation. Lingering, well-balanced aftertaste. Good stuff.

Lovely aroma of brown sugar and toffee which is found in the taste as well. Great combination between sweet and bitter, bitter towards the aftertaste really gives a nice palate. It also tastes strong but without a big alcohol fug in the back of the mouth which is good. One fine beer Ill definitely be having again.
