A lovely winter ale. The colour is a beautiful redish-amber which is, unfortunately, packaged in clear glass. A delicious caramel taste leads to a rich spice finish with very, very subtle notes of vanilla. Absolutely delicious!

500 ml clear bottle, from Tesco Express, Belfast. ABV is 6.5%. Beautiful brownish-red colour, moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of lightstruck hops, oak, toffee and caramel. Medium sweet flavour of malts, caramel and oak. Too modest hops. No masterpiece.

luttonm (6273) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 16, 2017
Bottle in London. Dark brown amber color, clear. White head. Odd aroma, dark and woody malt. Very copperish, metallic. Some banana and cardboard. Tobacco and astringent alcohol. Meh. It’s unusual.

Bottle with my father in law. Malty at first, but I got a lot of buttery grossness that dominated the flavor. Finished with a harsh, biting bitterness. This is really badly executed.

GuideDogSaint (1489) - Xiamen, CHINA - JUN 26, 2017
500ml bottle from Tesco. Pours clear dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma of dried fruit and nuts. Bittersweet finish.

appearance: dark clear ruby-to-brown, creamy tan head. aroma: toffee, caramel, herbal and earthy hops, some leather and molasses. taste: toffee, brown sugar, molasses, hint of leather and cherry. finish: slightly earthy and a tad herbal, with lingering toasted brown bread. notes: Nice. The toasty, toffee notes were quite good. Bottle courtesy of Kevin at work.

A lovely clear copper looking beer. Very malty and got some umph. A good solid 3.5 out of 4, a cracker for real ale drinkers.

17Beer (353) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 29, 2017
Malty leather smells. Pours a rich brown orange with a big quickly dissipating off white head. A lot of fine lacing. Great tastes of caramel and leather. A soft sour finish. Really distinctive and nice.

NallePalle (646) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - MAY 22, 2017
Bottle, 50 cl, Tesco Extra, Slough. Delicious ale, warming and well balanced.

500ml bottle. Molasses, raisins, biscuit, caramel. Great mouthfeel. Recommended.

Davros IX (359) - Hertford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2017
2016 catch up - I got the temperature just right and the flavour was excellent. Malt, oak and a very nice level of bitterness. The alcohol was well hidden and there was a very nice mouthfeel. I like this a lot.
