Heavy toffee malt aroma. Deep mahogany color with a one fingered head that is a hint of red. Dark fruit malt taste. Heavy bodied. Sweet and smooth with a dry finish. A fine sipping beer.

Pours amber into an English pint. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Vanilla and oak aromas. Sweet summer pit fruit upfront turning to oak and marshmallow in the dry, lasting finish.

Tasting tray at a beer festival in Dublin. Bright copper colored liquid topped by an thick rocky beige head. Lovely toasted biscuit malt nose reminiscent of toffee. Sweet butterscotch malt flavor with a silky mouthfeel upfront. Realy nice! I recommend it.

#114 - bottle from Supermarket. Deep rich oak and fruit aroma, almost whisky like. Lovely golden amber colour. Rich malt and dried fruit taste, very nice to drink. Smooth and foams a little in mouth .

I had this bottle for two years stored at room temperature in a non-air-conditioned lower-level room in a box. I had hope that was enough but it is a clear glass bottle and the aroma is definitely Skunky which is the dominant factor. Thankfully the skunk didn't come through in the flavor at all which had Malt, toffee hop and a hint of roast plus some carbonic tang. Body is good and it's very drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: delicately earthy, rich sweet caramel, fruity, cake fruits. Off white, dense, persistent, one-figure head. Deep amber. Nice lacing. Brite, busy and persistent bubbles. A very attractive beer! Flavour malt-dominant: caramel, raisin-type fruity, slight acidity, delicate lingering bitterness. Medium-bodied. Nice tingling carbonation. Cohesive. Mouthwatering. A very enjoyable drink.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/7/2015. Pours clear reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, oak, light vanilla, raisin, plum, apple, herbal, mint, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, oak, light vanilla, raisin, plum, apple, herbal, mint, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and tannic oak bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, oak, raisin, plum, apple, herbal, mint, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/tannic notes as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly creamy/grainy, and light tannic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a great English strong ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Really solid amount of oak presence for only being a small blend. A very enjoyable offering.

2016 catch up - I got the temperature just right and the flavour was excellent. Malt, oak and a very nice level of bitterness. The alcohol was well hidden and there was a very nice mouthfeel. I like this a lot.
