Old Golden Hen captures a celestial ray of sunshine in the form of a rare and very special Tasmanian hop called Galaxy. The result is a triumph for its sheer powers of refreshment. Malty sweetness, a hint of tropical fruit and a clean finish: out of this world.

Aroma: Tropical notes of grapefruit & mango.
Taste: Tropical fruits & malt sweetness with a crisp finish.

Clear liquid, strange colour. Small head. Aroma of citrus. Light body, no carbonation. Taste is sour, sweet and bitter and very weak.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2015 Bottle in a sampler pack as a Christmas gift from Surdyk’s. This does not smell pleasant. I can’t tell if that?s purposeful since most English beer is pretty skunky. It?s got a very pale, piss golden color to it. Minimal head. Unfortunately, the taste is pretty much exactly same as the aroma. Borderline awful. Lots of pilsner elements and a bitter grain overarching presence. Like a frat party keg beer if there was frat party keg beer in England. Bitter and not satisfying whatsoever. Avoid.

Nice golden colour, soft citrus flavour with a Nicely blended hoppy taste. Lovely and refreshing.

Pale golden pour with a thin white head. The nose is softly spicy and refreshing. A little bit of citrus and some nice clean malt. A touch of spicy hoppiness and a little bit of lingering fruit. A pretty simple, refreshing brew.

Klar lys brun farge med tynt hvitt skum. Lukter malt og mye sitron. Lettdrikkelig ale med sitrussmak. Syrlig også som avslutning.

Aroma: very intensive aroma of tropical fruits with some biscuits in the background Taste: low bitterness, hoppy Carbonation is too soft.

This would probably be better for a mid summer thirst quenched, not a cold night in November.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber with an ivory head cover, bands of lace. Taste is malt that adds molasses in the palate, then turns to a lightly bittered finish. The semi-sweet takes this away from Golden Ales, but it is refreshing on an autumn evening.

Lagerboy (2221) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 4, 2014
500 ml clear bottle. Clear brighter orange copper, off-white foam fades fast. Bready malty fruity smell, some skunk. Taste is slightly sweet toasted pale malt with a fruity hoppy tropical tang, somewhat lifeless and oily. Softer carbonation, medium bodied, moderately hopped. A better British blond. 500ml bottle. Pours golden amber with a decent white head that lingers. Citrus, malt and tropical fruit aromas. Bitter and hoppy finish. OK beer but nothing special.
