Old Golden Hen captures a celestial ray of sunshine in the form of a rare and very special Tasmanian hop called Galaxy. The result is a triumph for its sheer powers of refreshment. Malty sweetness, a hint of tropical fruit and a clean finish: out of this world.

Aroma: Tropical notes of grapefruit & mango.
Taste: Tropical fruits & malt sweetness with a crisp finish.

berkshirejohn (6767) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 25, 2011
50cl bottle from Waitrose. Amber with a ring of white head and moderate carbonation; peachy aroma and flavour, but rather insipid; then a gently bitter finish. Pleasant enough but rather sweet.

rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2011
Bottle, from Tesco, Barton upon Humber. Gold, thin but lasting white head and gentle condition. Sweet floral honey and a Czech-like herbal hops in the nose, quite full bodied in the mouth with a dominant herbal hop bitterness, a degree of chalkiness and a gentle fruity melon note, gentle fruitiness, faintly oily and low chalky bitterness in the finish.

DruncanVeasey (8426) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2011
The miracle finally happened: 2 years after opening Hinckley Tesco have new beer on the shelves, including several I’ve not tried. Bottle at The Penguin. Pale gold corkscrewing with fizz. High Gillette head. Buttered plastic, hint of wheat and lime in the aroma. Not unpleasantly buttered flavour; pastry, corn, OK some JHB Fairy Liquid notes as it warms. Light astringent finish. Pleasant cornflake afters, Rich Tea. Honey? Better than expected.

BeerViking (5132) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2011
Bottle at GBBF 2011. Golden and sparkling. A bit of lemony hop on the nose. Kind of like a malty strong lager. Inoffensive and reasonably drinkable.
