Old Golden Hen captures a celestial ray of sunshine in the form of a rare and very special Tasmanian hop called Galaxy. The result is a triumph for its sheer powers of refreshment. Malty sweetness, a hint of tropical fruit and a clean finish: out of this world.

Aroma: Tropical notes of grapefruit & mango.
Taste: Tropical fruits & malt sweetness with a crisp finish.

Pours clear golden with a finger of white head. Aroma of bread, toffee, citrus, light banana. Taste is sweet and yeasty with just a hint of bitterness in the finish. Light, smooth body with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of cooked hops, cabbage, dried leaves and cornflakes. Flavour of broccoli, steel and dishwasher. Thin body with a watery texture. Light fizz. This is vile. Drain pour.

Botle from Tesco Extra, Streatham, London (30/12/2015) - golden coloured pour with white head. Bready malty aroma and taste with some skunky grassy hoppy action, light fruity, basic stuff.

bitterlady (72) - - DEC 31, 2015
Light carbonation, first whiff after the pour is fruity, colour matches the label all golden and light. Dull but with enough malt to liven things up on the palate. Not really a thirst quencher for me, more suited to sip a few slowly and ponder something more interesting to finish the day with.

NYE Extravaganza. 355ml bottle into glass. Grainy nose, a little fruit. Clear golden beer with light carbonation. Grainy malty taste, short finish with grain, slight touch of fruit. Good in the sun.

Bottle from Dan Murphys 281115. The label says trpoical notes of grapefruit and mango but I’m just not getting it. Clean in the mouth witha soapy aftertaste. looks okay with a trail of white lacing left on the glass.

ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 26, 2015
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2015 12 oz. bottle from Liquor Barn (Springhurst); split four ways. Aroma: Moderate caramel biscuit notes with lemon tea hop presence in a much lighter way. Appearance: Yellow gold color with very light carbonation holding up a ring of white head. Flavor: Caramel still leads with just a little lemon tea in tow; the finish is mostly dry and hardly bitter. Palate: Light body, sticky texture, very soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Exceedingly dull, but drinkable.

solidfunk (8943) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Some kind of moldy trash aroma. Pours amber with OK head. Light astringency and some mash malt. Pretty terrible on palate. Bottle thanks to Dclawyer.

JorgeLee (2116) - Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 31, 2015
Bottle at the Village. Nice bright golden colour. Overly fizzy. Sweetish malts, slightly earthy, hint of a nice tropical fruit flavour and moderate bitterness. Refreshing enough, slightly dull.
