Cask at Deep Ellum, 3/3/17.
Golden with strong brass hues, a high clarity and a firm, white head atop.
The nose is a bit soggy, though one does find the Galaxy hop after some searching. They certainly didnt bet the farm on the amount they put in here though....Not that every beer needs to be a hop bomb, but this has only hints of lime and green, leafy spiciness. It does indeed leave room for the malts which add basic honey, vanilla and light cereal to the mix as it finishes with no alcohol or flaw.
Watery to-style with ample carbonation and lots of rich honey that is in turn well-attenuated. Some hops, obviously of an IPA type, but not even enough has gone in to identify them as Galaxy. Leafy, mildly bitter and lightly spicy with lots of monotonous malt notes and very little of any house character which is really whats to be looked for in a low gravity session beer that doesnt focus on hops.
Also the name should have been, "Gold Speckled Hen". They couldnt even figure that out, those bastards.

Draft at the Pheasant. Thick, slippery pour with a small but creamy head, sheets of lacing left around the glass. Nice big, full grainy aroma, follows trough to taste, one of the better goldens ive had recently. Really nice flavors and mouth feel is heavenly.

Mini-Cask from B&M, Team Valley, Gateshead. Golden coloured with a massive head of thick foam. It has a sweet malt, sulphur and toffee flavour followed by a very creamy slight sulphur fruity and earthy finish. Pretty good.

Cask at the King Arms, Greenwich. It pours a clean rich golden color with a small off white head. Aroma is creckery and biscuity, quite mild. Taste is also mildly sweet with notes of bread, biscuit, crackers, caramel. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, ok

On cask at The Woolpack, Chelmsford, 23/1/2015. None of the beers sampled last night were kept well. This one was a complete mess. Other than a good head and image it was diacytyl. Huge rubber. Loads of burnt tires. Some fruity yeast esters but it was incredibly off. Should not have been on. At least learn to look after beer before running a pub.
