COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and nitro can: Filtered. Also available as "Smooth" from nitro tap.
Ingredients: Pipkin pale malt; Crystal Malt; brewers sugar; Bittering hops: Challenger; Aroma hops: Goldings and Challenger; Morland yeast.

Cask version was first brewed in 1979 by Morland Brewery to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MG car factory in Abingdon. The name comes from the MG factory’s works car - the gold speckled MG Featherweight Fabric Saloon, affectionately known as the Ol’ Speckl’d ’Un.
Brewed since 1999 by Greene King following the take-over of Morlands
Bottled Old Speckled Hen has been sterile filtered in the "Old Speckled Hen Hall" bottling facility since May 2006.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear pale amber with an off-white head. Malty nose. Taste is malt, caramel, toffee, biscuit, spice. Okay.

33cl can on a BA flight. Pours crisp amber with high but quickly fading white foam, very fine. Aroma is caramel and toffee. Body is somehow light, but surprisingly with some stickiness. Taste is moderate sweet, and with good old-school bitterness. Finish is relatively long and with some more bitterness. Pleasant.

Shared with lovely Anja and Marko. Thanks! Clear light amber, small off-white head. Mostly malty, toasty, dusty, light dried fruits. Balanced, lightly dry with some fruity notes. Light body, soft carbonation, moderate finish. Acceptable.

Can. Clear copper body, small beige head with medium retention, almost no lacing. Aroma of roasted nuts, caramel malt, beats, rye and dried apricots. Taste of caramel malt, light bitter herbs, grains, some metallic notes and apricot jam. Ok.

0,355l bottle. Clear deep copper colour with medium lasting small white head. Aroma: Caramel, dough with barn notes. Taste: Sweet quite malty start with a tarty tone and a soft bitter mouthfeel. Light/medium body with soft carbonation. Medium lasting tarty/bitter finish. Typical malty English bitter, not bad.
